I always think they are a bit of a historical accident really. They used to be done years ago when Radio Solent fans forum was one of the few opportunities for the club to get its voice heard. First ones I remember involved Branfoot. As a result the club feel obliged to do them even though other interviews are freely available on the internet etc.

Wilcox does come across very well, as someone who is clear thinking, with a bit of a vision as to what he wants to build and how to go about it. Pedantic perhaps, but they weren't really signed in a "window" were they ? Agree with you though, nothing will come close to the signing and announcement of KK. But very different times in how transfers were conducted.

For that reason might be better if he goes to Chelsea as they seem to have a higher turnover of players, and within two years they'll want to bring in the 'next big name'.

Can't agree with you, very poor response in my view. I can't say I'm bothered about Lavia or Livramento on leaving but a player who has spent over a decade in and around the first team is different. JWP has given his all over the years (irrespective of if some think there are limitations in his game) and has always conducted himself with dignity. He deserves a better response. Good luck to him at West Ham,. hope it works out for him. (Probably wouldn't have been so gracious in hoping it goes well if he'd gone to Liverpool or Spurs mind)
