Where was this seen, out of interest ? If it's Crooks or Nixon then pinch of salt perhaps required.

My answer on a postcard: A successful one

A better manager than his reputation based largely on his time at Man Utd suggests. It was a shame he rejected Rupert’s offer at the time. The downside of this is that the new bloke will probably want to give Downes a once over, and the player will want the chance with a new manager. Inevitable though. Doubt that Moyes would fit the Rasmus criterion should there be a vacancy here.

Are Saints still regarded as top on the SR pyramid?
-
As said in an earlier post, the decision on a DoF may hinge on which division we’re in next season. Clearly more attractive as a Premiership club. Unfortunately though there could be the inevitable waiting on our choice working his notice so as not to be available until after the summer window.

What part of the post do you consider insane ? Since when have middle management (in want of another term) been engaged in selecting people above them ? This is not a dig at RM, any manager might find himself in the same boat. Fact is though, he’s been here a season, so it’s not as if he’s a MacMenemy, Wenger or Klopp who’s been at the club a decade, or best part of, and is part of the furniture that the operation revolves around. ( The tendency is for this to be less the case now than it used to). They might be foolish to take this approach but don’t see why they wouldn’t . SR recruitment has some form for falling into the foolish bracket after all ( Nathan Jones prime example).

That’s the scary possibility!!!

Not really anything to be gleaned from this. Bit unfair asking RM the question. The other explanation is simply that the owners haven’t shared their decision with him yet. RM is the manager, an employee, no reason for Rasmus & Co to involve him in the process, they’ll probably just tell him what’s decided, when they feel appropriate. Plus any decision might be dependent on which division we’re in next season.

We were in the same boat as you, and have had the Saints Plus Memberships for a few seasons. Decided in December to go the whole hog, and get half season tickets. This has been fine for away games, but have only used it three or four times for home games, so certainly not cost effective ( have tried to sell in ticket exchange a couple of times but not seen anything from it !). Might consider a ST if we stay in the Championship.

Good to see accuracy on the BBC website this afternoon (at about 4pm). Proof reading a thing of the past

Pleased to see Birmingham go down. Fully deserved after sacking a manager after a good start and appointing Rooney. Also, for those of us with long memories Birm v Norwich on the last day of the season is a miserable fixture. Unlike 1974 when they beat Norwich they go down this time. Fucking hell, that was 50 years ago. (So at least that scar tissue has healed).

Bit of bad luck with Mowbray’s illness, but otherwise entirely self-inflicted.
-
That’s the best outcome.
-
Playing Downes is a needless gamble in my view. Hope it doesn’t come back to bite us in the arse.
-
But it does give you a better opportunity of away tickets during the season. Interesting how the club are it seems focussed on short term gain, usually at the expense of supporters. The Leeds tickets another example. Contrast this with 1976 and after winning the SF the club immediately announced no further season ticket sales for the remainder of the season. People were coming out of the woodwork to buy them in the hope of securing a final ticket.

By his own standards perhaps, but still improved us. More damning of the rest perhaps

But that’s as it appears to ‘the man in the street’, like you and I. It might be viewed differently on Planet Rasmus where he has a spreadsheet, full of algorithms to tell him this bloke is the dog’s bollocks, and the next big thing. Rasmusseesaheadofthecurve#

Be surprised if it isn’t in a similar order to the SF ie ST holders ( in a descending order depending on seats), Members (similar order), then general sale. Only question might be ST buying for others and when that kicks in. You’d expect the club might have a bit more of a relaxed approach to general sale if it’s WBA/Norwich in the final rather than Leeds

Probably, fair point. Although I think their issues have been worsened by Mowbray having to go off on health grounds. They should have stuck with Eustace though.

Benefit of hindsight and all... but this didn't last vey well. Wonder who made the worst appointment, Millwall or Plymouth.
-
Congrats on winning the Nathan Jones Trophy yesterday, probably deserved. I too am hoping we're saving ourselves for the play offs, but not convinced.
-
Or... maybe Rasmus has seen something in him, and he's being fast tracked to be our next manager. (Another useful Masters initiative put together by University of Salford or Worcester no doubt...I'll await his questionnaire on here to find the 'fans views' ahead of his dissertation )
-
Did Semmens think she was part of the deal, or that we were signing her instead?
-
That is equally a perfectly valid point which I accept to some degree although with three games in the week I don't think they'd get too rusty from being rested yesterday. The exception to that in my view anyway is Downes, and I'd like to see RM keeping him under wraps until the plays offs. We want another big three games from him this season so not worth risking v Stoke, or even Leeds.

That could be a 'happy ever after' ending for all parties, although unlikely to happen. Having left us in no doubt that you don't think 'Lego' is the manager of your choice, who would you realistically want to see come in ?
