  1. Joining up with the striker we nearly signed last summer, name sounding like Fuck Awe ..
  2. Does this include Zach Awe or are these players with first team experience ready to go straight into battle ?
  3. He gave the team some leadership.
  4. Not bruisers, but Hammond and Schneiderlin were solid and could mix it when needed, not the delicate flowers we’ve had in recent years. Cork was also a dependable player who did a lot of the donkey work.
  5. Some of the names certainly don’t inspire confidence in me.
  6. Angers are in Ligue 2 Will we ever learn ?
  7. Wonder if Henderson and Fabinho are being sold on the ‘never never’ … Probably not.
  8. Good user name. We could certainly do with the spirit of the Alehouse team on the pitch nowadays.
  9. Good point (Joe Shields)
  10. Which suggests RM isn't in control of transfers and Wilcox has a casting vote, or is able to veto it.
  11. Perhaps Liverpool can add the £12m from Hendo to their low offer on Lavia. (And hopefully we'll still sell him to Arsenal or Chelsea)
  12. Apparently Hendo has made an emotional farewell video to Liverpool fans. Probably the greatestest farewell video of all time, its viewing figures will outstrip Barbie and Openheimer combined. No doubt NIvea will be sorry to see him leave these shores, but otherwise Fuck Off. And good luck with your rainbow laces in Saudi.
  13. Called Van Dyke Syndrome

    Sport Republic

Taken off their official site: After reaching a definitive agreement with the previous majority shareholders, Sport Republic, the London-based sports investment company, has finalized the investment by carrying out the capital increase in the VAFC and thus becomes the club's new majority shareholder. VAFC becomes Sport Republic's third football club, joining English club Southampton FC and Turkish club Göztepe SK Its history, the loyalty and fervor of its supporters, its exceptional stadium and training facilities, its training center ranked among the best in France, make VAFC a great football club with enormous potential. We are delighted to see this investment come to fruition after working on it for a long time. Valenciennes has all the characteristics and infrastructure to become a reference club. The former presidency has created a solid foundation, new opportunities for growth and development are available to us, we will work hard and support the club with the necessary resources to achieve this. Access the press release Eddy Zdziech After a long reflection on the future of our club, Sport Republic quickly established itself as the best new majority shareholder of the VAFC. I am convinced that Sport Republic has the capabilities to enable the VAFC to continue and accelerate its development to achieve the most ambitious goals. Their strategy and their desire to get involved in local life have totally reassured us about their desire to respect the history of our club as well as the work undertaken in recent years. It will have been an honor and a great pride for me to have chaired this club which means so much to our territory for almost a decade, to have protected it and to have allowed it to have the essential assets to convince Sport Republic to invest in Valenciennes. I will soon want to thank all the wonderful people with whom I had the immense pleasure of exchanging and working. They will forever remain etched in my memory. I wish all the Sport Republic teams and of course the VAFC all the success they deserve. Go ahead
  15. This is a bit worrying as I’ve read several comments from Swansea fans about how crap their GK was. And I think he’d gone to Swansea from MK with Martin (and presumably his GK coach).
  16. Underneath it all, he was a pussy (not that I’d want to tell him). Brian O’Neil would be my choice.
  17. Yes, but fuck off. What did the Romans do for us ?
  18. Good option had we explored it. Possibly Sam Johnstone as well. Unspectacular perhaps, but probably more solid and reliable over the course of a season than a 19 year old.
  19. That’s the GK second kit isn’t it ? If we have to change as our first kit (red/white, or red/pink depending on your view of it) clashes with the home team, how will the GK be able to wear that ? Or if the GK first shirt clashes, say at Watford or Hull, that will surely clash with our first choice for outfield players.
  20. Not a spectacle I’d pay to see, and if anything would go out of my way to avoid.
  21. Our traditional* away colours (well, amber and black) before we joined the 1970’s fashion craze for yellow and blue. * await the MLG debate about what is traditional, as I’m aware we previously wore white, and on one occasion I think claret and blue.
  22. Okay, you’re obviously more gracious than me on this one. Accept the comment re his recovery are not on, but still rankles when a player pisses off at the first opportunity (although it is something we’re used to). Await my bollox medal though.
  23. Thought Sunderland was alright. Middlesboro' a few miles away does have a reputation for its smog though.
  24. He would have been before his injury... but who knows how he'll recover ? For that reason I can understand him trying to secure a good contract based on his form from two seasons ago, and Saints being tempted to cash in now. The club nursed him for 12 months and paid his ludicrous salary for a year so yes I would begrudge him a move. Good luck to him if he moves, bollocks.
  25. … providing he doesn’t expect a wage during that time, fine
