This is what I read somewhere. At one stage his return seemed nailed on, but it was subject to Fraser agreeing terms on leaving Newcastle. Suggestion was that he wanted them to pay up the final year of his contract leading to a stand off.

I think this was all said in the early stages of last season. He looked highly impressive coming on as sub but when starting v QPR looked a bit out of his depth and not ready. He needs careful handling, and gradual introduction not thrown in and seeing confidence destroyed. Difficult to balance I know.

Opinions on Tadic changed not because he left but because in the last month or so of the season he stepped up when we were facing relegation and put some tremendous performances in, influencing games. He’d been anonymous for large spells of his time with us. As for Edozie, the willingness to run is there, but all too often a weak shot, or a nothing final ball is the outcome.

Unlikely to have a go at the team for this. Where do you think this comes from, isn’t it straight out of the RM mantra to recycle it around the CBs and GK ?

Might as well throw Tall Paul into that elite band of shit (or in fairness to him just totally unsuited ). Possibly TP might have offered a bit more effort than Mara.

That seems to be the mark of the modern winger though, at our level, either lightning pace, or it’s all nifty footwork and shoe shuffle ( cough - Edozie - cough ) and trying to beat one too many. Either way, no end product.

City though are dealing at a different end of the market and the calibre of player they start with are always more likely to be sold on at a profit. It appears the pool we draw from are journeymen types and unlikely to be highly sought after following a year in Turkey. lis left one Turkish club and is loaned to another. I don't think there are many clubs in the bigger European leagues looking to sign him. Of course we only need to make one real go of it to hail it a great plan

But i don't understand the benefit of Saints signing them, unless the thought is that they'll come good in Turkey, and satisfy the work permit criteria. Alternatively why don't Goztepe sign them ?
