Was a great player when he first arrived and didn’t look out of place among KK, Ball, and Channon. For a while he seemed destined for the top, but he never really regained his form after a back injury. Will remain a favourite player of mine for his part in the KK era, and early 80’s. Especially for his winner at Fratton Park, surely one of the most celebrated goals in my lifetime. Hope he makes a full recovery.

I remember the game on the Friday at Villa Park in Sept 2022. We were crap, and Villa under Gerrard marginally less crap. But in a few weeks they appointed Emery and we appointed Nathan Jones. No wonder our paths diverged from there.

Thought we were linked with a 6’4” South Korean striker rather than this bloke. What’s the South Korea - Japan relationship like these days ? Seems we’re recruiting from both places.

Proper Saints team as well, Golac (despite being dispossessed), Channon , Ball., Williams and Moran arrives on the scene Just to think when watching that on a bloody cold January none of us knew that KK would be announced in about a months time.

Time was certainly right for a parting of the ways. For me Che Adams was signed as a good Championship striker, with the hope of some potential to step up in the EPL. In fairness to him he seemed to put the effort in, but the standard of the league has moved on a bit. On top of the effort, and good hold up play, he also scored a couple of screamers (Sheff Utd away springs to mind). Thought he served us reasonably well last season as well. But sorry, the lasting memory for me though will be the clusterfuck of an opportunity at Wolves. Don’t begrudge him his move to Torino, hope it works out for him.

Exactly. There'd be a bit more interest in that transaction, and more than the FA, or EPL to worry about in scrutinising it.

I read an article saying we wouldn’t be able to sign him as he is currently playing for a Russian club. Article states we’d be unable to make the transaction due to financial embargoes in place.

Exactly. Suggested £7m could be better spent on GK, or CF for the season ahead. Not another ‘young prospect for the future’. We’ve already got SAA for that title in the same position.

IF we sign him I suspect the Milton Keynes connection with Russell Martin will be a greater influence. I’d hold off on any excitement as I suspect we’ll be priced out of this one.

I note RM's comments of easing him in. Does that mean perhaps three games this season, and possibly playing double figures in 2025/26 ?

Move on ffs. Don't know anything about the bloke really, but for me a winger with either lightning pace or fancy footwork isn't the priority, and don't we have a couple already ? More important is a CF, some fucker to put the ball in the net when it arrives.

Top man Yoshida. There's a good feeling to this signing, that brings early optimism, hope he lives up to all the hopes we have for him.

Interesting that of the three SR clubs, the suppliers are different, Puma, Umbro and Hummel. Good to see some autonomy allowed between them, would have expected a single supplier to be imposed.

Shouldn't it be a third, and third and third scarf : Saints, Goztepe, Valencienes ? Perhaps that should only be on one side of the scarf though. The other should just have the name Rasmus Ankersen on it.
