But the Saudi's will put on a party. Jelly, ice cream, lashings of ginger beer. Or just lashings perhaps.

Had also achieved a promotion at Scunthorpe on very limited resources.

Yes. Just hope when he comes in he stays fit. The pessimism of following Saints for 50plus years: Have a fear he’ll be eased back in mid-Nov onwards, start playing regularly then has a reoccurring injury late January with little or no time to bring anyone else in.
-
Is he related to Welsh Vallys ?
-
Winning 2-0 against us then obviously wasn’t good enough. Proves how shit we were at the time.
-
Thanks for explaining the connection. Always wonder about appointments being parachuted in and whether it’s the manager or board appointment and how it will pan out. With that background it may well be RM’s option. Certainly good to have someone with his experience behind the scenes, as I don’t think many of the coaches RM brought with him are that experienced as coaches or players. Saw Calderwood play a few times for Swindon and rated him then. Interviews since he’s come across as a decent bloke. Could be a shrewd move. Pleased with it.

I don't see that in his approach and the way he comes across, but lets be honest, that would be no different from most managers we've had over the last 30 years, or will have again.
-
Fair point perhaps, by perhaps with the average keeper, a last minute equaliser might not have been necessary.

I despise many things about the Premier League, from some of the club ownership models, the prima donna players, to the sycophantic media circus. But you want to see your team compete as high as possible, certainly not seeing the side depleted every season if you miss out on promotion. It’s one thing players going to a Big Six for mega £, it’s another seeing them leave for the likes of Brentford, or this season say Burnley or Sheff Utd in a higher division. We won’t challenge the top 4, but I still think we could, if properly run and managed, be a mid-table Premier league side maybe occasionally pushing into Europa or Conference Leagues contention.

Not too much scar tissue on display then ?

Bristol City were a bogey team last time in the Championship I recall. They’ve sacked Pearson today so might also be with a ‘new manager bounce’ when we play them.
-
Did Mike Dean also add he’d have shown Bazunu a red card for it ? If asked why he’d probably have added “because I can” . (just to make a game if it of course, and see if we can concede 9 again)
-
Interesting comment and thought, and that’s if he’s successful with us ie promotion and keeping us up. Possibly a tall order. If we don’t make it this year, he’ll probably start next season on thinner ice. As for Brighton, that seems quite a stretch at the moment, but could change, especially if their fortunes drop to being lower table again. This would probably indicate a successful outcome though as at least (you’d imagine) he’d have achieved the objectives here first.

Can’t Leicester have a 10 point deduction for Vardy being a cunt ? And another 10 for something his wife has done or said ?
-
Especially if they appoint Nathan. Remember how he had an immediate impact with us ? Well, he probably won’t have the same effect on them if he doesn’t have six weeks to confuse them with his tactics.
-
Remarkably they didn't concede any OG's. Give him a bit longer to get his ideas across though, I'm sure it will come.
-
That's a good summary, thanks. Not sure if its the way you've summarised it, or the weight given to various points but seems like some shades of Nathan in there. He's a far more polished and articulate version certainly, but reading about him knocking back the criticism, and his doubters is familiar. He even gets onto the topic of "compromising". Did he mention he could have worked in a Brighton Supermarket instead at some point?

One thing I’d say in defence of RM , like Ralph, is that he has been let down by poor recruitment in particular of a striker. Preferably one fit enough to play and make an impact immediately, not after six months rehabilitation.
-
Yet he caused more panic in their defence when he got into their penalty area than our timid so called strikers. Sums up a lot wrong at SFC at both ends of the pitch.
-
But he “aligns” or something..
-
But he’s young and from City. Bound to be the mutts nuts in a year.
-
I wouldn’t call them “crosses” , just continually driving the ball across the penalty area, sometimes at 100mph, sometimes over everyone’s head to the other side of the box.
-
Might even have been interested in us last summer, there were reports that Sunderland were looking elsewhere. Proper, solid, unpretentious manager, whose teams try to play attractive football. Unfortunately no beard, no "system" to implement, or part time knitwear model on his CV. Just not 'hip' enough for our decisionmakers. Rasmus knows best.
-
Didn't think he was that impressive on Saturday, despite his goal.

Is that intended as rhyming slang for the customers ?
