I think the orange text was B.Rabbit. -
I always thought promotion was clinched with a 1-1 draw away to Orient (Terry Paine scoring).

Occurred to me on Saturday, Saints get a late winner at Millwall and we’re all elated in our competitive league where we can win matches. Bournemouth lose 6-1 at Man City. No great surprise just a routine tonking for a lower table club v one of the top three. That is the league we’re trying to get back to, earn the right to get stuffed by City etc. Of course had Millwall scored first rather than hit the bar, we wouldn’t have been so keen on our league. Thin margins and all that.

Glenn Hoddle obviously out of fashion. -
Surely the greatestest of cup giant killings and upsets of all time ?

“Developmentally delayed”. Really ? Can think of several other words in ‘old money’.

Let’s start by clawing back some points on Leeds first. Don’t want to see another team putting too much daylight between us.
-
Surprised they didn't do one of these after, Brentford, or Forest. Better still after Wolves and why tactically it is so difficult to play against 10 men.

Wonder if Jason Wilcox has got his marmalade sandwiches in that coat pocket.

Big step up from the level today to the full pelt Championship (even at the pace we sometimes play). Think WBA might be the more realistic target.
-
Flaw in that plan is you might need to provide ID for collection. ( We had to at Hull for instance).

Agree, I think he'll do well there.

What happens if Israel qualify ?

But the Saudi's will put on a party. Jelly, ice cream, lashings of ginger beer. Or just lashings perhaps.

Had also achieved a promotion at Scunthorpe on very limited resources.

Yes. Just hope when he comes in he stays fit. The pessimism of following Saints for 50plus years: Have a fear he’ll be eased back in mid-Nov onwards, start playing regularly then has a reoccurring injury late January with little or no time to bring anyone else in.

Is he related to Welsh Vallys ?
-
Winning 2-0 against us then obviously wasn’t good enough. Proves how shit we were at the time.

Thanks for explaining the connection. Always wonder about appointments being parachuted in and whether it’s the manager or board appointment and how it will pan out. With that background it may well be RM’s option. Certainly good to have someone with his experience behind the scenes, as I don’t think many of the coaches RM brought with him are that experienced as coaches or players. Saw Calderwood play a few times for Swindon and rated him then. Interviews since he’s come across as a decent bloke. Could be a shrewd move. Pleased with it.

I don't see that in his approach and the way he comes across, but lets be honest, that would be no different from most managers we've had over the last 30 years, or will have again.

Fair point perhaps, by perhaps with the average keeper, a last minute equaliser might not have been necessary.

I despise many things about the Premier League, from some of the club ownership models, the prima donna players, to the sycophantic media circus. But you want to see your team compete as high as possible, certainly not seeing the side depleted every season if you miss out on promotion. It’s one thing players going to a Big Six for mega £, it’s another seeing them leave for the likes of Brentford, or this season say Burnley or Sheff Utd in a higher division. We won’t challenge the top 4, but I still think we could, if properly run and managed, be a mid-table Premier league side maybe occasionally pushing into Europa or Conference Leagues contention.
