  1. Don’t worry Still has got them in for a extra pre-season exorcising.
  2. Nail on head.
  3. Has been suggested on here anyway, that Koln have signed an older and more experienced striker for next season in Bundesliga so perhaps he feels game time will be limited if he stays. Plus Saints might be paying more.
  4. Agree that we can take a punt on an up and coming player some times, or from time to time. But not time after fucking time …
  5. You may be right but we don’t need squad depth if we’re serious about next season. We need first team starters. And that isn’t Archer, Stewart (who you can’t rely on to be fit) or BBD, for CF.
  6. Anyone else nervous of him getting out of the vehicle ? Go easy on those ankles Kameldeen.
  7. No just a specific thread to air discontent over another ‘one for the future’.
  8. Seems like a cross between the signings of Mara, and Augustine Delgado. Mara as in untried, but lots of potential so will surely kick on, won’t he ??? And be worth a bit to sell on. Like Delgado, possibly one eye on the next summers WC and if he looks good there it’ll increase his value no end. Clear to see surely ? Never mind the minor inconvenience of trying to get promoted this season.
  9. Would like to think so, although probably a bit too ambitious as he's linked with Premiership clubs.
  10. Or one of the positions that were not deemed critical, and were waiting to offload before buying.
  11. 5’9” according to Wikipedia so probably not the main striker we’re looking for. IF true, only hope Edwards is not part of any deal.
  12. Big feet
  13. And for a perfect happy ending , Bazunu as well.
  14. Yes, give him some credit for bringing in a good amount on selling them. But let’s not lose sight of the fact that he was the prick to claimed to have overseen the transfer window bringing them here for an inflated fee in the first place. Somehow I doubt they even imagined selling Sulemana at a loss.
  15. Don’t worry, it’s reassuring to know we’ve still got Edozie to provide no end-product.
  16. Dennis was a cult figure at the time, and a bit of an icon. But best 20 Saints might be stretching it, even for me as one of his biggest fans at his time with the club. (Perhaps he could have been had he stayed for longer). Could put John McGrath in same category. (In my view, but probably not widely held).

    Lallana role.

Remind me, what was the Cortese stuff at the time, and how is he connected with this ?

    Lallana role.

Might be a source of conflict as much as a void. Agree that in theory their backgrounds and experiences look to complement each other well. Spors might have played a blinder here, and done some fantastic work in matching their profiles. You just have to hope they can gel and work together. As a young manager you’d have expected Still to want more familiar people around him.
  19. I posted one on here the other week.

    Lallana role.

Is he highly regarded as a coach, or are we just happy telling ourselves that he is ? But like Lallana or not, it would come as no surprise if he becomes caretaker manager at some point especially if we get off to a slow or faltering start.
  21. Holgate ?? Although perhaps that was just a fail based on talent alone, rather than effort.
  22. He was a frustrating player whilst with us, but there seemed an inevitability that our first £1m player would turn out that way. Not sure why it didn’t work out, but the player we bought had a fairly free role at Swindon, he was their ‘main man’ and attacks were channelled through him (some would now describe him as a ‘No 10’ role). When he joined us he was curbed a bit, and as I recall played wide right. Didn’t work. No great surprise that in a lower division team and perhaps more freedom to play his way,he recovered some of his previous form.

    Will Still

Strange that Lallana remains, inexperienced, but a good playing record. Someone at the club clearly rates him.
  24. I’d like to keep AA, although it’s an unknown whether he fits in a Will Still type of system, whatever that may be. I certainly wouldn’t want to sell a proven 20+ goals a season Championship striker to an immediate promotion rival such as Brum or Ipswich. We can guess how that might end, although somehow it seems a very ‘Saints’ type of move.
  25. Agree. Even the YouTube clips aren’t that impressive. He certainly doesn’t look the dynamic and athletic striker Spors referenced, more a bit of a forceful lump in the Troy Deeney mould, without great pace. Also playing in a pretty piss poor league.
