I think you’re clutching at straws Glos Saint. It’s probably just the Christmas piss up, where they gather and smugly congratulate each other on how well they’ve done. Probably discuss a bit of business as well. Things like extending Martin’s contract again.
  2. He certainly is, given the way we're run...
  3. Now having a sulk and wants out in January according to reports. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-lesley-ugochukwu-southampton-loan-34221017.amp Shame as thought he might offer something in joining. Left wondering if he’s crap or under-utilised and just pissed off.
  4. Obviously drained the battery pack 🪫 quicker than the skates thought it would.
  5. But when he does get fit it’ll feel like a new signing again …
  6. The club have been fairly guarded over this, but this might very well now be injury Mk III or Mk IV.
  7. There’s been a slight change needed to your post
  8. Have to wonder if he’ll ever play for us again. Shame as I think he could have been the striker we needed. But it remains a ludicrous gamble signing him when we did with his injury at that point, and it’s only got worse since.
  9. Looked pretty average last season.
  10. Staggering how inept we are when it comes to recruitment. How, why has it become so chronic ?
  11. Middlesbrough did this years ago when they brought in Venables to "assist" Bryan Robson. But if his contract says he is First Team Coach then that's what he remains.
  12. Yes, commented on this on another thread. He did accept that the goal “was on him” , but no real humility in that. Interview got worse trotting out his usual mantra of being brave, and how if we continue to play like that “ they’ll be alright”.
  13. And they used to say in one advert that “a finger of fudge is just enough..”
  14. Were any of the ‘gang of three’ there yesterday to witness it first hand ?
  15. True, but are you relying on our travelling support to provide that ? Probably a fair proportion of ‘noddy support’ in our allocation.
  16. On the contrary, he’ll revel in being the centre of attention, especially if it brings a bit more publicity to hype the ‘brand’.
  17. As we were told by Swansea fans.
  18. He gave a smile when asked if their first goal 'encapsulated our season', and denied that it did. Then went on to say players working hard and are so brave. "If they carry on like that they'll be alright ". Does he seriously believe that shit ?
  19. ... and where he's been for the last 18 months under RM ?
  20. Thought this might wake up the Woke lobby. But has there been a song on this topic at SMS/The Dell before ?
  21. He's escaped the abuse and wrath of the fans to date. A little bit of booing after a poor performance at home to Rotherham last season, and a few cheers when McCartthy 'goes long'., then he gets prickly in interviews. Compare that to Jones who was subject to 'Nathan Jones, your football is shit' after about four games. Agree with the second part, should have gone after any of our earlier failings, Leicester, Bournemouth, Wolves.
  22. I suspect it’s more that none of the preferred options want to go near the job.
  23. Leicester fans didn’t like Enzo, didn’t like Cooper. Saints fans of course don’t make a habit of constantly disliking managers.
  24. I felt genuinely sorry and embarrassed for Nathan Jones. He was clearly out of his depth and struggling with it. For that reason I was reluctant to join the abuse towards him in the stadium. Martin on the other hand has in my view enjoyed a charmed life at Saints, on the back of more articulate interviews and promotion. But he has brought the failures on himself with style of play, and deserves all the abuse coming his way for his refusal to adapt. Rasmus also - on par with Lowe when it comes to deserving the flak. Just a shame we don’t have the fan base to deliver it nowadays.
  25. Not sure how you explain that to them in a fairly innocent way that they’d understand. But good luck with it when they repeat it when they get home in front of Mum, Gran or the vicar. You can probably expect a call from the ‘Woke Police’ soon as well.
