It’s fucking weird, you’ve got Tall Paul banging them in, Bree doing ok in this league. Is it shite coaching or the club being wedded to having certain type of players and those 2 not fitting the mould. It’s fucking crazy. Bree can play wing back, full back and even centre half & TP is something completely different to bring off the bench. When we’ve kept Archer & Manning, it doesn’t make sense.

The margins at the top level are minuscule, and the championship is a top level league. They may give 100% “on the pitch” (although I’m not convinced), but if they’re not training 100%, don’t have the correct mentality 100% of the time, aren’t living the lifestyle or have the mindset of a professional athlete 100% of the time, the drop off will be noticeable at this level. Nobody can convince me these players are giving their best 100% of the time, day in day out.

I’m glad somebody has said it. The problem with naming a clique & “bad eggs” is people let their opinions of players abilities seep into their opinions on who the bad uns are (myself included). Because Jack is a captain who isn’t an automatic pick, because he’s been asked to play various roles, and because different managers have made him captain, people use that as evidence he’s a malign influence in the club. If you stepped back and take the emotion out of it (which isn’t something we do with football opinions), these things actually mean he does have the right attitude and can be relied upon to do his best (however bad that is). I felt slightly uncomfortable with the reaction to the win at Wembley. Whilst I didn’t post it, so will be accused of hindsight, I did feel the celebrations were a bit too full of themselves and a bit too congratulatory. I thought “we’re back where we belong”, having spent the vast majority of my life watching us in the top flight, and I got the feeling the players felt the same. However, they’re not supporters, not emotional fans and their attitude should have been “the hard work starts now”. I didn’t get that impression at all, and nothing I’ve seen since has convinced me that the desire is there. Both the players and manager seemed a little bit too cock sure of themselves after that win. It wasn’t a cup win, it was a trophy for being the third promoted team. The players, Manager & the clubs attitude felt different from Nigel Adkin’s time, a little bit more humility from far far better players.

His last 3 or 4 performances haven’t been anything special, he needs to find a way of overcoming the opposition who are working out ways to stifle him. Clearly most supporters are going to blame the manager, because Leo can do no wrong. But the next few weeks will determine just how good he, is or whether he’s just a show pony like Gaston or Boufal were. If making him captain helps him return to the levels he showed 3 or 4 weeks ago, I’m all for it. But, his drop off in form has been just as bad as some of the others lately, so he should face the same scrutiny…..

And fucking “Arma”, with his pony fucking nickname. There’s not many I look at and think “he’s a good lad”. Baz seems a.right, I mean he’s fucking pony, but he doesn’t walk around like Billy big bollocks. Downes thinks he’s Johnny Concrete, but is a fucking pound shop JWP, Fellowes seems ok, as does Azaz and Jander, but Manning has shown what a coward he is with his “making a back” challenges he’s suddenly started perfecting. We used to have a team of Son in Laws, soft arsed but nice lads, I wouldn’t want any of these cunts as a son in law. Soft & unlikeable. Unfortunately, in the modern game clubs will back the players, not the manager. This is going to repeat itself over and over until someone stands up and tells them “this bloke is going nowhere, & you’ll be fucked off before him”. They won’t, so the next bloke will have to get them onside, but when the going gets tough, they’ll shit on him as well.
-
The bloke shot straight in the middle of the goal. AM saves that every day of the week. Had he been playing behind the exact same players it wouldn’t have been 4, I’m convinced of that. The first one he had his legs so far open I thought Bonnie Blue was in the nets, the second one was easily saveable and the 4th was down to him and his weak parry. Even the third one he dived in completely the wrong direction…He’s a clown…

I’m fed up with bashing Gavin, if he fucked off I wouldn’t need to. Why do we have to put up with this chump when it’s the easiest position to improve. He is far and away the worst player in a horrendously bad set up., the worst player in the whole fucking league in his position , as bad as some of the others are, you can’t say that about any of the others.

Fucking Steve Miller would be better than “The Joker”

I watch a lot of Wessex league games, and although I’d love to say there’s better keepers, there actually isn’t . It’s probably a bigger gap in standard than any other position . So it would be an exaggeration to say Baz is that level. However, I’ve watch my son in law in National league games and I have absolutely seen better keepers than Baz at that level. He’s probably League two level at best. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s playing in England in 5 years time it’ll be at step 1 or 2 level.

Im starting to feel similar. Played exceptionally for the first half a dozen Tonda games, but has done fuck all lately. Becoming a bit of a show pony. Opposition seem to have sussed out how to stop him. It happens to every player of this type, and the best ones find a way of overcoming it. The ones that don’t disappear back to a softer league. I’m leaning towards the second outcome at the moment.

A new low for The Ghost today.

These cunts got Will Still the sack & they’re getting this bloke the sack as well. I know it’s the norm to blame SR, The manager, the formation & Spors but that lets the rest of them off the hook. This has to be the most unlikeable bunch of wankers I can remember. To capitulate like that, I’d quite frankly disgraceful and is taking the piss out of all of us who love the club. It wouldn’t bother me if there wasn’t a single one of them at the club next season. Even Leo, we keep being told how good he is, but he’s been bang average since other clubs have sussed him out. We had fucking easy chances but Downes, Armstrong & Fellowes fucked it up. Armstrong is supposed to be captain and this great goal scorer at this level, but he’s shows zero fucking leadership and misses far too many chances. As for the goals, Downes gives the ball away, yet again he fails to make an easy pass. We then go to sleep and the Baz opens his legs as wide as Bonnie Blue’s,which makes it an easy finish. Second one, pathetic from Manning & then another “should Baz of done better” moment, the bloke didn’t exactly smash it in, it looked like Barnes Wallace had designed the ball as it went past The Ghost. Third one, awful from Downes & Manning, good dive from Baz, unfortunately it was in the opposite direction to the ball. Fourth one Baz again. Pathetic display second half, flat track bullies that have no heart, no backbone and no shame.

2 horrendous performances, but they’ll be some excuse for that I’m sure. It can’t be 4 at the back because that’s the answer to all our problems. With our full backs, playing 4 at the back would be suicidal and our attacking performance won’t better Charlton, Leicester, Birmingham or WBA either….

Thanks for highlighting why some people don’t use the forum anymore.

Was it even his goal. If the championship had the same process as the premier league and opta was involved, I’m pretty sure it would have been taken off him and given as an OG. The championship just relays on the referee and club agreeing, without the ref even reviewing the footage.
-
Because he’s shite, was always over rated on here….
-
Baez is fine for that league, maybe a swap deal?
-
So JWP was to blame for that then, he was captain when Walcott played that season. Or is it only when Jack Stephen’s is captain, that it “starts with the captain”?
-
This bloke is absolutely pony. Horrendous. Why have a pony version of AA, I’d rather have kept Brenton Diaz, because although he was also pony, he’s bigger (as in physical), than this fucking bloke. If we’re going to have someone running round doing fuck all, surely a bigger bloke doing fuck all would be better than a midget doing fuck all.
-
What’s he like in nets…
-
That save will be remembered all around the world..
-
If that’s true, why did he bother with Still? Why not just appoint his “lover” from day one. Unless of course it was all a cunning plan, get someone in he thought would fail, putting promotion and his position in doubt, for his “lover” to come along and rescue us. For this cunning plan to work, the players needed to put in 4 or 5 brilliant performances until The Lover got the job. Of course the alternative take, is he got Tonda in because he thinks eventually he’ll be a top coach, who could run the youngsters before eventually stepping up to replace Still. a combination of Still’s shitty spell & Tonda’s first few results as an interim changed that and he thought results deserved him a shot.
-
Agreed. There’s a lot of rewriting history going on lately. I’d have preferred someone else but once results, and more importantly performance ,were dso good h, he deserved the job. Overall the points total is probably about par, and I’m not sure anyone else would have more from those games, but the issue is the downward trajectory. Spells like this are when experience is vital ,so not having any is defo a worry,. I’m a bit on the fence at the moment, we probably could have done better, but we could have done a lot worse and still be grubbing around the bottom of the league. Once results were so good the club were in a difficult situation, his results pretty much made it inevitable he’d get the gig, One thing for sure, is there’s a lot more saying they never wanted him now, than there was after those victories
-
The fact a good save is credited as “world class” & people are waxing lyrically about the save, tells you everything you need to know about Baz. Expectations are so low, it’s probably the first time Baz has made a save you didn’t think he should. It was very unlike Baz , he actually made it harder for the bloke to score by abandoning his ghost alter ego and made himself bigger. It’s one of those where you spread yourself and hope the ball hits you, thatd nit a criticism as it’s an important part of being in nets. Poor miss from the guy, he probably thought 1-0 and must be worried he’ll end up with the unenviable record of being the only bloke denied a goal by a good Baz save. He’s still shite though. A couple of times he could easily have collected crosses but didn’t, the only which went for a corner was embarrassing, if that was an under 15 keeper I’d be bollocking him for not giving the defender a call and collecting the ball.

What’s Jander’s best position? Id say centre midfield, where he’s played pretty much every game.
