I agree with all of this and the Parsons comments - honourable, but so naive. Football is so corrupt no place for good guys. The media moral outrage is something to behold given everything else that goes on in the game.
-
Impossible for him to stay and why would anyone want him to if he has fucked everyone over?
-
That might be best case scenario
-
To who though? We are damaged goods.
-
If this report is true, which I think it is, then Parsons has been incredibly naive. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/05/19/spygate-scandal-english-football-southampton-middlesbrough/

The way things are going we may soon be rattling buckets asking Bournemouth to put a few quid in.
-
It seems convenient but you may be right. The final report will make depressingly interesting reading.
-
Why do you think they were the ones they fessed up to? This was systemic, those 2 additional games were selected as low impact in terms of result and league positions.
-
Agreed. I think he would have resigned or been forced to resign. It would help our case mitigation i.e. "we've dealt with this". Dragan has £200m at stake and as much as he and we love Tonda, that would be his main focus. I'm confident therefore Tonda wasn't directly involved.

The "1 week to go" post by the club and silence over the past 48 hours from the Boro client journos suggests to me that all parties know the outcome, or at least what it isn't. Hopefully anyway.

I'd love the conspiracy theories to be true, not least because the lashings of humble pie from the media, ex-pro's and twats like Corden would be delicious. Sadly, the simplest and most obvious explanations are usually the right ones.
-
Correct. I don't think thats a fact a lot of neutrals have grasped - they are frothing at the mouth at "spying" generally, which is of course fine outside of the 72 hour rule.
-
Are we in a better position than when they took over? If we ever get to that point then they will deserve some credit. A long way to go and if we don't go up this season then I think that we will have serious financial issues
-
Some of it is wildly inaccurate especially around the Adkins sacking and Pochettino appointment. Timelines totally wrong which make his anecdotes highly questionable.

6 of each. The Chelsea players hair was holding the other players hand 😉 eh Whitey?
-
It's ok to admit you are wrong rather than doubling down on something so obvious to 99% of people who can, you know, see. Utterly bizarre.
-
100%. Surprised he didn't wear a hi-vis and hold a clipboard.
-
He moves so slowly he will probably arrive there in June.

Yes and Southampton branded cookies 🤣

Bet365 were offering 500-1 earlier. Now down to 80-1.

Brighton are incredibly well run from top to bottom (I do have some personal insight into that). There will always be a degree of luck in transfers of course but they get it consistently right which is no coincidence and they have their core supporting structures spot on. Saints couldn't be further from that sadly - we are run by a team of desperate gamblers at a roulette wheel.
-
It's the whole Sport Republic model. They want to emulate Brighton, the difference being that Brighton are good at it.
-
Mid-table mediocrity - we don't do the basics in defence, we don't win 2nd balls. Far too soft as a group.
-
They need to go. The poor decisions repeated again and again, the money they have wasted, the lack of dealing with the blindingly obvious weaknesses on the pitch, the seeming need to try to re-invent football, the propaganda that we should be delighted when we get good fees for young talent - it is a catalogue of failure and I'm not sure many on here have any confidence in it changing.
