I was told last season that he was retiring but was going to be working with the Academy so was surprised when he was linked with Reading. Now he has retired we shall see, although he seems to be suggesting he wants to do something outside of football and a lot has changed at the club in terms of support personnel during the the summer so perhaps it is no longer an option.

Heard a snippet that Hummel are being ditched at the end of the season. Looks as though an initial 5 year contract was signed but given the distribution issues maybe a break clause has been exercised. Just passing on what I've been told.

I'm not so sure about that. I think he felt it was time to move on, just a shame it was on a low. The meltdown on here would have been worse if we were still in the PL and he had left. In some ways having the excuse of relegation helps all parties.
