But the Real question is "Does their season get under way tonight?" We've already had "the results of the pre-season games are irrelevant, it's only about fitness" And we've had "the result of the first competitive game of the season is irrelevant, it always throws up a few freak results" My money's on "the results of cup games are irrelevant, it's all about promotion this year"

Irony or what. The footer on their board says "Stopped during one of the recent immigration spot checks? Contact us :" I could suggest that that constitutes "Stirring up tension and division in the UK". Nothing like a few riots in the hot weather to get the fundraising back on the front foot, eh?

The problem as I see it is if you only let it grow into a burger, can you really be sure that it would have grown up into a bit of prime Aberdeen Angus? I mean really sure. If you thought it might grow up to be a bit of a donkey's penis, would you still want to eat it?

Wigan. You can't create a proper top notch football club just by chucking loadsamoney at it. And, to a lesser extent, Reading for the same reason.

Have you ever taken a bird or your Missus or both to watch Saints?

How much of it did she see from Torquay? -
Worst case scenario planning: If SRL suffers a serious injury.

Sad to say, but I don't think losing Lambert would actually be our worst case scenario any more. -
Global warming really is happening... (well, duh!)

I'm completely equivocal as far as global warming is concerned. Where I am most people have far more pressing things on their minds. I'm also pretty sure that we will destroy ourselves in some other way long before global warming becomes terminal I just picked up on your point where you said the rate of rise in temperature was unprecedented, presumably to add some force to your argument, whereas in reality none of us knows whether it is unprecedented or not. -
The bookies no longer have them favourites to win the league, or odds-on for promotion. That didn't take long.

That's better. Even half a million years is a miniscule snapshot of time in the context of the existence of the planet (roughly one ten-thousandth I think). We don't know if it's happened before, or if it has, why? Or what the outcome was. -
They really know how to put the glamour back into cruising, don't they?

Serious question, how can you say they are unprecedented? -
That's another "record" they have over us, I don't think we've ever been 92nd in the league. As usual, forever in their shadow.

Good luck to him if he's off. Everybody who wore the shirt in the two promotion seasons will forever be a part of the legend in my eyes.

Thanks for the warning. A bit late now, but I'll see how I get on. I did de-select all the "extra" toolbar / search engine / browser options when I downloaded, and so far it seems fine. I'll run malwarebytes & avg scans when I get time. I've got a very recent disc image of my hard drive from the end of last week if it goes tits up.

Thanks Guys. I followed one of the links and got diverted to something called iLivid which seems to be downloading and saving it.

Does anybody know if it's possible to download to watch later? I'm heading off early tomorrow morning to places where the internet doesn't reach, and would have plenty of time in the evening over a room service burger to sit back and enjoy it.

Simon Moore -another one that slipped through our fingers?

That Didier bloke from the Ivory Coast. -
Jane Austen. That b*tch was single-handedly responsible for me failing my English Literature 'O' level. It might have been 40 years ago, but I've got a loooong memory. She'd better hope I never meet her in a dark alley one night, that's all I have to say.

It is, of course, more spin. Interesting that they quote £££'s where they think that will impress the phew, and %%%'s where the £££'s won't. The actual numbers are fading in my memory, but what I think is interesting is that the HNW's have "invested" £1.65m. I remember that they have put quite a bit more than that in. They were subsidising the running costs for quite a while last season. So that is likely to mean that despite the PDT's 57% majority shareholding, the HNW's still have control of the Board, and the rest of the HNW's cash is in the form of "shareholder's loans", presumably repayable and with some form of security. It also strikes me that the total amount "invested" is not far away from the amount of the PCC loan + the Robinson loan + the Chainrai settlement + the CVA. All of that is effectively gone, so they actually have no investment for their future, and have to run the club with income from cut price season tickets and a few stragglers. But they get the bins emptied free, and they've got "four whole years" to pay the player compromise agreements. It really is paramount that they stick to their budgets and keep their costs as low as possible if they want to stay solvent p.s. it's worth bearing in mind that the amount of the player compromise agreements is equal to approximately the WHOLE season ticket income from 10,000 season tickets for the next FOUR seasons. Just in case they're tempted to use the parachute payment money for anything else. Will they be tempted? Nah, 'course not.
