  1. Chelsea by far. Take Suarez out of Liverpool and they're no better than us.
  2. Rodriguez did well, both in the central role and when he moved deeper in the second half. Lambert was really good when he came on. I wish we used him off the bench more often as he can make a greater impact that way. Clyne was excellent too. There's no way Walker or Johnson are better than him. Shame Roy has ignored him. It was almost too easy in the first quarter of an hour and we coasted through the rest of the first half to be honest. Shaw was a little sloppy with the ball going forwards (excellent in the second half though) and we didn't get the ball to Adam or Gaston in enough dangerous positions. Boruc looked like he had a hangover or something but thankfully Norwich were so poor it didn't matter.
  3. I'd drop Davis back alongside Morgan and give Gaston a start in their hole. We have the luxury of no pressure so let's try something a bit flarey.
  4. Typically, the role of CEO and Chairman are distinct. Cortese was atypical in the sense of being an executive chairman. I think Krueger has been installed as chairman as he seems to possess a good mix of strategic nous and an understanding of how to face the public. I'm sure someone will retain responsibility for the more technical aspects of corporate management. Whether that's Rogers on a permanent basis or a new appointment remains to be seen. I suspect it will be a mixture of Rogers and the Hotstepper. I wouldn't get hung up on the parent co / football co distinction. The parent co has no other interests so it's just a cosmetic thing really.
  5. Brilliant.
  6. I see they managed three times as many yellow cards as shots on target. And second bottom Northampton get an away win
  7. If "organised" terrorism was involved then typically wouldn't someone have claimed responsibility for this by now?
  8. My best Saints team based on players I've seen in person: Niemi Dodd. Svennson. Lovren. Shaw Schneiderlin Ekelund Lallana. Le Tiss. Bale Pahars Subs Boruc Clyne Bridge Claus Oakley Walcott Beattie
  9. Just had a kid called Morrison so probably given time off.
  10. Because in most matches he is easily our worst player now.
  11. Should have had penalties in away matches against Norwich, Stoke and Everton as well.
  12. John Terry has small erection. Lol
  13. Just finished watching an episode of Storyville, a documentary series on BBC 4, that looks at the South Sudan national football team. As you might imagine for the world's youngest country, born of a brief hiatus in regional warfare and 98% reliant on oil exports to its uneasy divorcee in the north, it's all a far cry from the world inhabited by Rooney and other such gormless, perfumed ponces. Anyway, it's about more than football and it's certainly not just Cool Runnings on grass /dust. From the mad Serbian coach, the striker with over fifty siblings, the vice President with the huge gold watch, the spectre of malaria and the struggle for basic infrastructure it's well worth a watch. Highly recommended.
  14. BBC 4 certainly has the best documentaries on UK TV. Excluding sports coverage, the Channels I watch the most are probably Sky Atlantic, BBC 4 and Channel 4, with a fair smattering of BBC 2. The Light Channel and BBC 3 are simply ghastly.
  15. Lallana and Welbeck were much better than Rooney, Wilshere and Sturridge. Don't quite get all the praise Sterling is receiving - I thought he was very average.
  16. Exactly! We need a better one!

    Pensions

I'm sceptical of the long- term value in the annuity market but if you can afford to put a small amount away each month you might as well. With tax relief and employer's contributions it probably represents value and it's a hassle free process. Your money will go into long-term structured funds and you won't need to make investment "decisions" as such and you will avoid the temptation of saving nothing. No doubt Dune will be on soon saying pensions are for mugs and you should buy shares or some *** will come and tell you that they invest in property instead (like that's an option for most people).
  18. Would anyone be happy if we started next season and he was our main striker? Honestly, I doubt many would. We need someone who presents a goal threat against the better teams and, other than from dead balls, Rickie simply doesn't. He can still be a valuable squad player though, no doubt. As for should he start against Palace... Dunno. Jay Rod's touch isn't generally good enough to play as lone striker. Is Gallagher good enough to start PL games regularly yet? I don't know but I would be inclined to try to find out.
  19. Would be refreshing if someone from "Kick it Out" or something similar would release a statement along the lines of: Sol Campbell does nothing for our cause by playing the race-card in a cynically commercial manner. We have no evidence whatsoever of institutional racism within the FA or of political involvement in team selections. Instead, you get unthinking simpletons like Blisset and Roberts trying to defend this nonsense.
  20. If Lambert wasn't playing so terribly and Osvaldo hadn't been a budgie there would be no need to rush him in. Ridiculous to judge him yet.
  21. There it is! Mr Predictable strikes again.
  22. Been obvious for months that Lambert is the weak link.
  23. Don't worry, we'll just go with Super F**** and Stevie G. Works every time.
  24. He looked like one of our best players in the match against Charlton too. A little like Nathan Dyer in style and build. One to keep an eye on f'sure.
  25. Cheers all. Minty, I might give your pal a buzz too.
