It’s very hard to judge because there are so many variables. I’d say Matt Target is a much better footballer than Billy Sharpe or McBurnie, for example, and Josh King is probably better still. Which makes me optimistic because we now have a manager with a clear plan and strategy again. Hughes, Pellegrino and Puel had no. clear plan, so we ended up signing players that, largely, couldn’t deliver what was asked of them.

The Covid break has really helped us. Before that we had turned a corner from the rubbish we were serving up in the first third of the season but we still rarely put a decent 90 minutes together. Since the break we've had one bad game but have been very consistent apart from that. The acid test will be the start of next season to see if we can carry on this consistency (of performance, if not result).

The atmosphere will be absolutely terrible as well. It'll be like a pre-season friendly. Frankly, most people buying ST'S are probably just loaning the club money. Really can't see the point, myself.

I've also just remembered I bumped into Jan Poortvliet and he was also a nice bloke. That episode gets more mental the more you think about it. Anyone remember the mysterious European chap with the glasses who seemed to be advising Lowe at the times?
