  1. This is the bit that sounds true and depressing above all of the other problems, whoever it is will probbably try and get players who don't like playing in positions and styles to play in those positions and styles.....it seems very, very, likely. I'm not laughing.
  2. Be fair - I did say 'tiny' 🤣
  3. Funny you should write that I was thinking the same - a bit positive I know, I'll go and lie down in a minute - but if they don't hammer the crap out of Man City, which I would imagine they won't [the money behind them is mental] then really pounding Saints into the ground is going to look very bad - even for the media that hate us. Surely they have that tiny bit of commonsense? See you later, off for the lie down now.
  4. Well if Tonda gets the boot, a new manager comes in, Tonda's rules for the goalies dont count anymore, so who knows what will happen? Long a non-playing just training goalie, Peretz No.2 and Ramsdale in goal - I mean it is Saints so as mental and daft as I sound the more likely it will be.....
  5. Well imagine how angry the Middlesbrough supporters will be - clogging up social media with posts and replies about Manchester City, I mean a team cheating in the league they should be in, obviously not as big an offence or as evil as Saints one, but nevertheless. WIth their wonderful angel-like attitude I'm sure they'll be demanding City get a 3 point deduction and one of their scheduled penalties is removed - oh and 'Borough get instantly promoted now because....well obvious really.
  6. It did when I played - I'm 64 now - once a team moaned so much that I was handling the ball outside the penalty area when I did my crap dropkicks, that the referee came and stood inline on the wing with the edge of my penalty area to watch me drop kicking it. I told him what I was doing beforehand but he had to do that. What I was doing was throwing the ball inside the area outside the area and kicking it then - he saw it three times and said I was doing nothing wrong and 'play on'. Maybe it was me who made them change the rules?
  7. I'm sure I've posted this before many times - I am a boring old man - Roger East is a Saints supporter - I've been to the Dell with him, all of his famiy support Saints, I've played football with him too - so him saying he didn't support Saints was 'hmmmm' and him saying he wasn't good at football was an underplaying part. He wasn't brilliant but in the standard we played in he was a good defender. If you ever played in The Commericial Houses League for Hospital Sports he played in the Minnows Cup Final you lost - and I was the goalie.... 1985 Minnows Cup Final The Kings Arms 2, Hospital Sports 1
  8. Might help us and other teams too - some forwards/players will get inside the box and think it is easy to plonk a shot at the near post and a normal goalie will save it. I watched it and it was just the way it pongled in - but also from a goalies point of view [you all know now I have never stopped banging on about it] I felt his positioning was bad, as the player cut in I would have be further off the line - first thing that does is either make him try and square it or probably shoot to the left where it might be easier to save. I wasn't great but I was good at angles and saving shots - my height runined it for me, crosses etc I was useless, also when it started that the goalie needed to be able to play football [I always remember you weren't allow to pick up passbacks, I hated that] I was just getting close to retriing thank goodness.
  9. I'd have saved that......now. I'm 64.
  10. I might be misremembering or something be didn't he say the team didn't play the way he wanted in some stages of that game and it didn't sound like he was joking. As for the unbeaten run, well leading 3-0 or something with 20 minutes to go and passing back and forth on the halfway line and then back to the penalty area - back to the goalie - out wide - back up the halfway line, across the halfway line again.....they could have gone 1000 games unbeaten and I wouldn't have watched them. It is supposed to be entertainment too.
  11. Odd isn't it? That's what teams did with us so many times last season - Leicester City away being the big one, if they'd have managed the game correctly, Saints would have lost that match. Football is a confusing sport at times.
  12. Hey folk, anyone tell me how JWP performed for the second half - I didn't see the game, not even a 'link' today.
  13. Yup, I wonder if they will be a team to keep an eye on?
  14. Funny, I noticed that and was just about to post that. He was on the bench their last game, didn't come on though. I wonder if they did that so that it looked like he was okay and keep the fans quiet and now he is back to the treatment room for a few weeks.
  15. When are we allowed to 'melt-down'? I need to mark it in my diary.
