  1. Mrs D tripped over a dodgy paving slab and went to soton general A & E to get her very painful ankle seen. X rays taken and we're told no break. She carries on working ( on her feet all day) and 4 weeks later goes to our gp cos the ankle is up like a tree trunk and still hurting like hell. More xrays and we're told that actually yes it is broken. Had to have a cast and the radiologist at our local hospital called up the first set of xrays on the pc and she reckoned she could see the break!!! Humans make mistakes.
  2. A sad loss indeed......reunited with his brothers
  3. Neil Allen ‏ @pn_neil_allen In a nutshell, Chainrai in #Pompey talks & promises no liquidation. Trust progressing but need more pledges. Fans can have say who emerges.
  4. Parachute payments are supposed to help bridge the gap between Premier and Championship levels. So how come Portsmouth will still receive them having dropped to League 1 (if they're lucky)? Surely they have had time to sort out their finances, and having dropped another league yet still receiving pp creates an uneven playing field for the rest of the league?
  5. Been there although we didn't stay in Sunny Beach. It's extremely touristy and packed but easy to find a good time.
  6. Great read as usual. Please keep going next season.
  7. This...............I hope
  8. His daughter was there
  9. Neil Allen ‏ @pn_neil_allen Now there are going to be high-profile redundancies among Appleton's backroom staff. More good #Pompey people suffer.
  10. So if liquidation is the only option why has TB not done this? Is he waiting for the official end of the season or does he have another plan?
  11. If she was too drunk to stand then it is presumed she was too drunk to consent, therefore rape.
  12. Done
  13. Mrs D here, from a female perspective Colinjb is spot on. Spoiling is the way to go if you don't normally get her breakfast in bed or buy flowers.
  14. Whilst I feel very sorry for those small/family businesses that have been screwed over by them there is a tiny bit of me thinking "what did you expect with their track record?" How any journo can defend them is beyond my understanding.
  15. Sorry dune but that's not correct. jewish bodies are buried as soon after death as possible without embalming which is against their faith. Entombment is a newer practice not yet the norm
  16. Gammon? WTF??? Where's the chicken??
  17. This, the bold bit. Mrs D and I have raised 4 polite, well mannered kids.
  18. If kids were taught respect they would be able to determine who does and who does not deserve it. It needs to be taught in the first place.
  19. I think it may be a touch simplistic to blame the abolition of corporal punishment. Respect in any shape or form seems totally lacking in children today and it seems to stem mostly from a lack of family life with decent values. Most couples I know both have to work and have, to a large extent, tried to give their kids everything they feel they missed out on. Not saying that's wrong but having everything handed to them seems to have had the effect of raising a generation of "I want it, I should have it" kids who don't care how they get it. Being taught to respect your elders or authority or indeed anyone seems very much a thing of the past.

  21. Well that was a surprise.
  22. jos hooiveld ‏ @joshooiveld20 A win and a clean sheet. Two positive things for me today, ONLY two positives for me as well hahha. Not my best game, but good week!
  23. Not necessarily embarrassing, just proving Pompey are not worth watching.
