Hello, I have 12 Saints progs from 2001-2002 season and 12 from 2002-2003 season. They are offered free but I would be grateful for, a, a smallish donation to the Piam Brown Childrens Cancer ward, Southampton b, purchase draw tickets from the same charity. Norm

I should have had a tenner on QPR. It was going to happen and I'm really not shocked HR got one over on us. I only watched the second half but I thought we looked lost.

2nd home game on the trot that I've been unable to get two tickets next to each other. Offered singles but 6 rows apart. Firstrowsports again, I'm afraid. Sad that the club reduced the size of the Family Section.

Give these folk a call, I'm sure they can help..........................http://www.samaritans.org/

Hmm, so private that he contacted Sky to request being interviewed? (Allegedly)

You need to change your username to Happy Turkish as your posts of late seem very upbeat. Must be a good month in Photocopier sales?

I haven't been so lucky for the Man C and QPR games. I normally get two tickets in the Family Section (gson and self) but for both games there were no seats together, only singles. So the cost of going to Block 19 was an extra £16. Looks like Firstrowsports for me. If the club do expand, I can only hope they make the Family part bigger.

Would it not have been a good idea to have included this on one of the other two threads, 1, Suited and Booted 2, Meeting between Cortese and MLT arranged ?
-
I was there and I can assure you that Duncan did not have his hand up Matts arse working his mouth. I said at the time (to myself) that the meeting would not take place. Re the Pinnacle fiasco, Matt confessed to being 'taken in' by the numpties fronting the bid. Dig Dig, I'm not sure what your issue with FF is but you are doing exactly the same thing that you are accusing Matt of, ie washing your personal dirty laundry in public (on here).

I'm seriously not interested. I have no problem with HR. None of us know what happened during his 5 minutes at SFC. Let's just get on with what is important, supporting Saints.

A very good summing up of the situation, Turkish! It is as I predicted on Monday night. I wrote under the thread on FF's book that the meeting would not take place. Matt made comments during his Q&A that were bound to get back to Cortese and that was the end of any meeting! I'm just glad that I did not repeat the comments in my post.

I'm pretty sure that Matt did not speak to the Echo direct. He made comments at a Q&A meeting where the Echo reporter was present. Not sure if anyone will see any difference in that point.

Matt did say that he hopes to get answers from Mr Cortese about how he is treated by the club. He told the audience that during a visit to a box, the waitress told him that she had been instructed to inform him that he was not allowed to go anywhere else in the stadium and he had to remain within the box. He also said that others were treated badly by the club. I think it honourable of Matt to try and fight against any 'injustice' of others by the club but should they not fight their own corner? It seems that Franny's case against Cortese is due to be heard in court soon. During Duncan's excellent talk on the clubs history, he told of a Cup (trophy) being found in a groundsmans hut. It was taken to the Trophyman's shop for valuation and Duncan was contacted. It turns out that it is the first cup won by St Marys FC and it was presentated to the Schools FA by Saints. The last winners were Woolston School (Hope I have all that correct, Duncan). It is hoped that a home for the cup can be found, which Duncan is looking into. Sadly, the Schools FA do not want in to go back to Saints.

Turkish, as the club reads this page, I really don't want to add fuel to the flames but lets say that Matt made some very strong personal comments. Mostly about how he and others were treated etc. ps, if all that Matt said was true (and I have no doubt that it is) he and others really has been treated like ****. Matt admitted that he had been naive about his involvement with the Pinnacle bid but that he was not told the truth.

Great photo, thanks for sharing.

Home and an enjoyable 90 minutes with Duncan and Matt. FF gave a slide show for 30 mins about the Saints from St Marys to Soton FC. Photos of teams wearing the Sash strip and how the club started. Most enjoyable! Thank you FF. Then onto a Q&A with Matt. He talked about goals he scored, managers (Branfoot/Hoddle/Ball), England, money (from Sky) in football, players wages, opponents he hated playing against etc Everyone seemed to be waiting for someone else to mention 'The Don', so I did. I asked what did he hope to achieve from any meeting with Cortese and did he feel that the comments attributed to him has helped the situation or poured oil onto the fire? To be honest, and this is my own view, I don't think the meeting will take place and if it does, things said tonight will make it a very fiery and short meeting.

I was going in Drag but sod that now!

£3. I used a knife to get the coins from my grandson's money box:blush:

I'm going tonight and need a good question to put to Matt. No smutt or comments on his hooter, please!

Perhaps your mate needs to seek help. Drinking like 'a nutter' is OK but supporting Slumberland?????
-
Sounded bloody good on Firstrowsports.

Wigan were outplayed and must be sooooo thankful for the point. Yet we should be kicking ourselves, we murdered them!

I've offered to go with Matt, as his 'heavy', just in case Don Cortese brings some muscle.
