I am so sad to read of Pats death. I only saw, from a distance, his brother Jack a couple of days ago. I have known Pat since I was in my early teens from our days and nights at Northam Boys Club. We went on holiday to Ireland when we were possibly 17 together. Pat was the most lovely man with a great sense of humour and he was a great friend to have. Sadly, we had not seen each other for some time. I would be most grateful if anyone would give me details of the funeral arrangements, please. RIP, a most lovely friend.

I agree with CEC. Football seems to think it's above reality with what is going on in society. As for me, I will go to perhaps 5 games this season, if that. I'm just not prepared to pay over £50 for my grandson and me.

As a boy, I helped with the delivery of milk in the Polygon. I made sure that Tommy Mulgrew had a Gold Top to 'build' him up at his digs in Harborough Road.

If I'm honest, my opinion is clouded by the fact that I always liked Hughie as a person. I've known and met him many times over the years and found him to be a real gent.
