  1. Hmm, nice idea Art. I could get to like this. Problem for me is the yuf at the rear of the stand banging the hell out of the wall at the back. Not sure they give two fooks what a stand is called! Now us 'old timers', well thats different. Awaits name calling and abuse from the yufs.

    RIP Pat Fleet

I am so sad to read of Pats death. I only saw, from a distance, his brother Jack a couple of days ago. I have known Pat since I was in my early teens from our days and nights at Northam Boys Club. We went on holiday to Ireland when we were possibly 17 together. Pat was the most lovely man with a great sense of humour and he was a great friend to have. Sadly, we had not seen each other for some time. I would be most grateful if anyone would give me details of the funeral arrangements, please. RIP, a most lovely friend.
  10. I agree with CEC. Football seems to think it's above reality with what is going on in society. As for me, I will go to perhaps 5 games this season, if that. I'm just not prepared to pay over £50 for my grandson and me.
  11. Bullseye! Says it all for me.
  12. I loved the mid to late 50s but the 70s are and will forever be my No.1.
  13. Omg, 40 years ago and that 'clowns' name will never going leave my memory box! The game could have lasted another week and England would not have scored! He just had one of those incredible nights.
  14. As a boy, I helped with the delivery of milk in the Polygon. I made sure that Tommy Mulgrew had a Gold Top to 'build' him up at his digs in Harborough Road.
  15. If I'm honest, my opinion is clouded by the fact that I always liked Hughie as a person. I've known and met him many times over the years and found him to be a real gent.
  16. Art, you very kindly provided me with a super link a week or so back. Thanks for another one to bookmark!
  17. Duncan, thanks for the link.
  18. David Burnside and Tommy Mulgrew. As for Hughie Fisher being unpopular, utter tosh! (Mind you, with a memory like mine....................)
  19. Did you mean Northam Road, Six Dials area?
  20. Or Javi?
  21. Any streams for tomorrows game?
  22. Anyone tried any of the links provided by Art yet? I can't get any to work but I confess (hope noboby reads this) to being bl&&dy clueless on matters computing.
  23. Thank you, Art.
