I was really surprised at the great reception he got on coming on to the pitch! Delighted for him and the look on his face when he scored...........superb!

Sadly, my grandson now wants to go with his mates and join in the banter in the Northam (can't blame him really). We rarely missed a home game since we moved to SMS and even went to a few away. We sat in the Family section and I found the cost reasonable until last season when he became an Under 17 ticket price. That saw an increase of £20 or so. So the result is that I will go to 2 or 3 games this season due to the extra cost, ie £37 for my ticket and £22 for the lads. Hmm £59 to see Saints play the mighty Sunderland, I think not.

My gf (now wife) and I started to watch Saints together (mostly away games) in the early 60s. Went by coach or any car we could bum a lift in. Funny how things worked out, she worked for the Saints for 9 years later on! Knew all the 'oldies' by name when she met them.

Having been 'under the weather' the past few days, I needed a good laugh and by golly, this post made me laugh!

Calm down, dears! I find it funny how indignant some of you get over a prank. I can guarantee that if the chance came for the situation to be reversed, we would be laughing our socks off! As for wanting men to get the sack, get a life!

Hmm, unless I can get tkts in Family section (which was difficult last season) it looks like firtrowsports again for me and grandson.
