  1. Odd choice of cars! I have to say I have never, at any stage of my life, considered the Toyota Avensis to be Chavvy? It's just a boring rep-mobile. I don't think I've even seen one modified before! By the way, Ponty's right about the 200SX. Very underated and very fast. Favoured by a lot of 'drifters'.
  2. Good laptops but a bit overpriced for what they are.
  3. What does his use to keep that hat upright! Viagra?
  4. We've got a firm matress with an integrated memeory foam top. We had a firm matress prior to getting it and it took some getting used to. A bit too much of a soft feel to start with but now we're used to it it's bloody lovely!
  5. The Cure - Disintegration Blur Greatest Hits Some Friendly - The Charlatans Old skool baby!
  6. The county club definately has some potential. Have you seen the redevelopment plans? Are they any good? Royal Winchester is a lovely course. Only played there once but very nice. Hamptworth is a good Forest course, as are the 2 courses at Bramshaw. Stoneham is very nice too. I play at Chilworth which is not a bad public course. It's got some good challenging holes (including the 1st which is a tough start with a dog-leg par 5 over water!) You've also got one of the best municiple courses in the country with Southampton too.
  7. God, not you as well! I've tried believe me but I just can't help myself. I have this unhealthy need to hit the ball as hard as I can, every time. It does me no favours but I can't seem to control it. If I took a 6 or 7 iron I'd end up in whatever hazard was lurking behind the green. When I got down to 8 I was playing a lot smoother I have to admit but I'm back to old ways now and yes, I do overswing as well! I think I'm just too damn stubborn to change anything now and as I'm fast approaching 40 (well, 37) I think my bad habits are here to stay. I just learn to live with 'em! Oh and for the record I would be up for a forum golf day.
  8. God I don't hit it 300 yards every time. I wish I was that consistent! When I say I hit it 300 yards that's if I hit it right. I wouldn't be playing off 17/18 if I did it every time. I don't use my driver that much but when I do It's going to get near the 300 yard mark if all goes to plan! I've hit it over 350 once on a flat fairway but that was definately a one off (I know it was 350 as I drove through the green and off the back on a 348 yard hole, assuming the yardage on the card was accurate!) I'm a lot more consistent with my 3 wood and that's always going to be around 250 yards, 270 on a good day. I'm a big guy and I've always been a long hitter. For instance I will take an 8 iron on a 160/170 yard hole as opposed to most of my mates who will use a 6 or 7 and I'll happily hit my wedge 130/140 yards all day long. My big problem lies with keeping it straight - now that's a different matter!
  9. I've got an Integra 450CC Sooo Long at the moment which is an absolute beast when it works. I've hit it around 350 yards on occasions but it's just not consistent enough. Most of the time it goes over 300 yrds but the slice is so bad it only actually ends up 200 yards away and on the next fairway! Rather be hitting it 300 yards and straight! To be honest I hit my 3 wood pretty straight and generally get 270 yards out of it so maybe I sould stick with that!
  10. Yeah, got some pretty good contacts for clubs as I used to buy and sell them on eBay as a sideline to my business. Been meaning to get myself a MacGregor NVG MacTec (Draw Bias) as I've heard good things about them. Good VFM as well.
  11. Depends if you want a Mac or a PC. If you want a PC then I'd recommend HP or Toshiba. Having been a laptop engineer for about 10 years now I'd generally regard them as being the best put together and most reliable. Tosh would edge it for me personally. I've had 3 Toshibas in the last 10 years and none of them have ever failed me. In fact my second one is still doing loyal service with my Dad and going strong after 7 years. All I've ever replaced in them is hard drives and memory but that was in the name of progress, not failure. Something like this would do the job nicely; http://www.ebuyer.com/product/165966
  12. Alonso at Brawn? Can't see that surely?
  13. That makes me laugh! For some reason neither my Dad nor myself will usually swear in front of each other (other than minor curses) but at football we're both totally potty mouthed. My old man's shocking sometimes, he even out-swears me!
  14. I remember that race pretty well. This was the era when the seeds were sowed for my love of F1. The cars were absolute beasts in the early 80's!
  15. Indeed. If you don't like this particular thread, read another. It really isn't rocket science. Fortunately there are quite a few people who feel it is far from pointless and are having a pleasant discussion about it. If you don't want to partake then go and bother someone else on another thread please.
  16. Why's that then?
  17. I disagree. I got a pair of Adidas Majectic from there and I was the envy of all. They had red and white soles which was unheard of then and they were made of the softest leather I'd ever felt. They were pricey but it helped that my Dad got a hefty discount at the shop. I also remember getting a turquoise, white and blue Patrick kagool from there. Any self respecting casual from the 80's will remember these!
  18. I remember that one! It was so rammed in the lower East that my mate had to take a leak against the wall at the front as he couldn't get out! My little girl is nearly 4 but haven't taken her yet. She keeps asking to go but her attention span is not sufficient yet!
  19. I could be tempted if someone was willing to join me in drinking lots and lots of beer!
  20. What a pathetic thread! The guy looked like he's got pace and when he gets the measure of the League 1 game I think he'll score for fun! Some of the offside decisions today were ridiculous. The lino was utter, utter crap. He didn't understand the basics of the game. One of the runs Papa was flagged offside for was ridiculous. He was about 10 foot onside when the ball was struck and he started his run!

  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXMbB_681Ig Check this out - Absolutely hilarious. A fantastic insight into the great mans thoughts in his later years!
  23. No point in lessons. Been playing for over 20 years and at one point I became obsessed with lowering my handicap and did the lesson thing and played 3 times a week. Touched single figures but let old habits return and after a few years I'm now at the stage where I only play about once a month and just enjoy the game within my limitations. I know what I'm doing wrong and I know how to correct it but I feel uncomfortable and inconsistent when I make the changes. I prefer to be 'pretty good' and just enjoy my game for what it is!
  24. Depends on your needs. If you're looking for a older period property then Upper Shirley is nice and you'll get a roomy 3 bed detached Victorian place in a nice road. In other, less desirable areas in Shirley you'll get a 4 bed detached for that. Inner Avenue and Highfield are also nice places for older character properties with similar prices to Upper Shirley. If you want quiet then Basset is a nice suburban area and you'll get a 3 or 4 bed for your money depending on area and quality. At the other end of the scale you could get yourself a very nice city centre flat at that price as there is an over-supply of flats and prices are competative. You'll get a top end build in a nice central location at your budget.
  25. Point break = Awesome! Sad news.
