If you want to play away from home then you had better not do it with the bar maid at the local pub. Before you could rinse your **** all the village would know. Except in the case of, say, Man City the usual rules of free market capitalism doesn't exist. Having a free market is all very well but you have to turn a profit. There is not a snow ball's chance in hell that City will ever make a true profit on GAAP (generally accepted accountancy principles). Nor Chelski, nor a tonne of other clubs with knob-head owners who spray money around like there is no tomorrow. Any normal company which doesn't never makes a profit eventually goes bust. So free markets would work to keep player wages down if the clubs were forced to make a real operating profit.

I've just been sick. Went for my usual Monday morning swim at the council swimming pool and there was a bird, about 30 ish - not bad to look at, but a bit chubby. Any way I'm doing my 50 lengths breaststroke, going up the left handside of the lane and back on the right side. There was 4 of us in the one lane, including said bird. And lo and be-feking-hold she gets her period right there and then. Looked like she had been attacked by Jaws. Feking made me puke. She calmly got out the pool and faked off to the changing room leaving her womb lining in the slow lane. Its fecking wrong. Reminded me of that scene from Blue Lagoon. But then I sit back down in front of my budget spreadsheet and see how out of reach a middle class existence is and part of me says 'boll0x to it all, let's get p!ssed' I would have to earn over £50,000 a year before tax to be able to afford to put aside the £1,000 a month for a deposit on a house. Still take me 2 years to save enough for 10% down payment on a place with small garden and 3 bedrooms even in one of the less posh areas. And then there is the 'pension' savings. ****** to it all.
