No they won't. They won't know where it is.

Why? You think it couldn't happen to Britain? Really? How come? Why are we so special?

The lows of March 2009 will look positively Himalayan in a few years time. The US is bankrupt. The Fed is about to embark on QE2 possibly as much as $5 TRILLION. The sheer amount of debt which needs to be unwound is absolutely massive on both sides of the pond. And China is about to implode too. Property prices around Beijing have tripled in the last two years! Yes, you heard me right. And looming above everything is the very real energy crisis and other resource scarcity. When an economy and monetary system is based on the need for perpetual exponential growth and there isn't ever-increasing and cheap energy to fuel the growth there is only one outcome. Complete systemic collapse of the underlying monetary system which will, as always, lead to societal breakdown. We ain't seen 'nuthin yet..

Yup. And the fact that you seam so incredulous just goes to show how out of touch we are in the West. Only two generations ago many families in rural England would lay in several months worth of food for winter. Lots of pickling and fruit-drying etc. Now we rely on a just-in-time supermarket logistic setup. Do you remember when the fuel protest happened in 2000 (might have been 2001)? The supermarket bosses actually went to Downing Street to tell the PM that there was a serious threat of running out of food everywhere. Stores only carry enough stock for about 3 days of normal trade. If there is a rush panic the supermarkets could be stripped bare in a matter of hours. I am not being complacent. There are serious tensions in many key areas of concern at the moment and just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it can't. Preparation is the key.

Of course this could also be a result of the recession.

I can only dream of having a pension. But it is a moot point really as the entire economy and political arena is going to change out of all recognition over the next 20-50 years. The country is not going to get richer, that is a myth. We are going to have to downsize, power-down, re-localise and radically adapt to a world with scarce resources and dwindling energy supplies coupled with the Orient and India in the ascendancy. Our time in the limelight is now over, we are now regressing to a much simpler and poorer society where pensions are a thing of the past.

I agree. Pards is a great manager for this league. But if he doesn't start turning in some results he will be given his P45 by NC come November, mark my words

Does anyone know where one can buy bulk amounts of dry kidney beans and other pulses and nuts? I've seen a few website but the maximum amount I can find is 5kg. I'm looking at about 50kg minimum. In case you're wondering, I'm trying to get my 'deep pantry' sorted out so I always have at least 6 month's of non-perishable food stored away in case the economic/political sh!t really hits the fan (which I strongly suspect will happen over the next few years). Any ideas greatfully received.

Is this thread contender for the longest thread on any forum ever? Must be! Keep it up lads.

Good point: Pint is now 3 quid, down from £3.20 Bad point: no pies Utterly unexcusable point: service was painfully slow. It ain't rocket science, is it? Call up the ticket office and find out how many fans are to be expected in each area of the ground. Then check that number against similarly attended saturday games and look up how many lagers, bitters etc were sold before kick off. And then before the turnstiles open pour a big lot of pints in anticipation of the rush. And keep pouring so that there is a buffer of about 50 lagers. Use common sense and five minutes before the bar closes stop pouring. They will be sold. And instead of just a regular lager tap, get a five-pint tap installed so that five pints can be poured at the same time. And how about having self service beer machines like some other grounds do. And get a pre-payment card sorted. We charge our card up at machines, ticket office or online so when we get to the bar we order the pints, the chaps hands a pre-poured beer to us, we swipe the card and bugger off. Shouldn't take more than ten seconds. Seriously NC, you got to get the catering moving faster. It is just too slow, and that when the ground was only 22k full.

I didn't know that? When were they allowed back in?
-
it won't be long before the stewards try to stop us taking photos on our mobiles..

100% correct. Banning photographers would certainly have an impact on sponsors.
-
why not charge any accredited photographer an entrance fee and then let them take their own pics? Got to say, I don't like this policy. The Sun is correct, we need all the publicity we can get and the amount of revenue which could potentially be generated is a drop in the ocean compared to players' wages etc. Cortese is setting himself up for a national row with the media. Not good.

We all pay our subscription to this forum to this company, registered at this address: SAINTSWEB LTD FLAT 3, 38 HOWARD ROAD SOUTHAMPTON HAMPSHIRE SO15 5BL Company No. 06471076 Date of Incorporation: 14/01/2008 I am not satisfied with the product that I have bought. I paid £5 to SAINTS WEB LTD for access to a website-forum that I was familiar with. Subsequently, the forum layout has changed; and I have received no correspondence from Saints Web Ltd that my user-experience would also change. Saints Web Ltd has taken my subscription for one product, and mid-way through the subscription they have changed to a wholly unsatisfactory product, and one which was most certainly not advertised. I await Saints Web Ltd's response, 1976_Child

Smirkin - the boys who set this forum up, about 18+ months back, wanted to be as professional as they could be, so the incorporated and launched and TOOK MY MONEY! So why do these fly-by-nights now not wish to engage with their customers????????
-
And before this thread is locked, I, as a paying customer of Saints Web Limited, demand to know why you have shafted your paying customers so? This site is crap. I am a customer.
-
Smirkin - you may think it funny but I pay a LIMITED company to use this site, so I am entitled to my opinion. This format is ****e.
-
Why is the website not centered in my browser? As a paying customer, I say this new website is utter crap. The old one was much, much better. You admin boys have really gone and screwed it up. The whole website is less professional and less easy to use. Sort it out, or don't bother asking for my fiver next time.

Over paid pretty boys. Enjoy yours holidays boys. You were all useless. **** off to your £100,000 + a week jobs at your clubs. Never mind that we expect more from you, if I had your average wage for two weeks I would be mortgage free and would enjoy the rest of my life with out debt. You are all over paid losers.
-
sorry boys, but I find this new website harder and weirder to use than the old one. I like the banner, but after that it is all a step backwards. It used to be centered in the middle of my browser, now it ain't. Sorry dudes, it is crap.
