North Korea Commie Bastards, I salute you!
1976_Child replied to 1976_Child's topic in General Sports
dune, you are absolutely spot on! British Socialists want everything handed to them on a plate, just like some f--- wits want Our Lads to just hand the world cup to them. -
If anyone has any doubt how eleven men should conduct themselves on a football pitch, with a view to giving 120% of every second, every minute, then you should look no further for inspiration to the way North Korea played tonight against Brazil. Technically, they are our enemies; we, and the Americans, are still technically at war with North Korea, but bugger me did they show us how the beautiful game should be played?! Sure, they had precious little up front but they did have the ability to rip the Brazilian's defense apart towards the end when Brazil should have been content with a 2-0 win. What impressed me the most about the way these plucky commies went about their business tonight is that they were a real team, covering for each other, running their socks off and out to prove a point. A point which, in my book has been well proved tonight. If our boys with the three lions, or just the red sash, play as well and with as much passion, commitment and desire in the coming weeks and the coming season then the World Cup will be ours and Our Red and White will win the league with ease. Well played you Commies! Superb performance.

Facking **** west ham no good t0sser. A primary school keeper would have done better. The one time you want a Skate in goal and he ain't there. Why the fack wasn't James playing. The rest of the game was carp. But that daft facking muppet ***** in goal needs to learn how to do his job. ****.

I love the design. Wow! And what a difference without a sponsor. Great job NC et al. What sort of material is it? It looks like cotton, not polyester...

I made this point on another thread but I believe it is worth restating. I firmly believe that not giving a payment plan because of the admin costs and also applying an online-booking fee and on-the-day booking fee is because Cortese has a cultural blind spot. After the completely irresponsible way the club has been run in recent years I don't believe that any true fan would fail to understand that the 'business' needs to be run on sound financial principles. But the fact remains: we English hate having 'extras' and 'fees' added to bills. Culturally we prefer to be told the price and that is that. On the continent it is much more widely accepted to break bills down into component parts. We would rather the costs are diluted and dispersed amongst all tickets. Cortese has to learn the lesson of this debacle. There are differences to approaches and he has failed to gauge the Englishman's pulse on this one.

Number one. Spell 'receipes' correctly. Number two. Hard boil eggs, peel and allow to cool right down. Then fill jar with four parts white wine vinegar and two parts balsamic. Add a touch of olive oil (it will float on top while the pickling happens). Cut up and mash a clove of garlic for each egg in the jar. Add garlic. Add two bay leaves and a handful of rosemary. Seal tightly, store in a cool place for three months and voila! Robert is your father's brother! yummy!

Why would anyone want to fly BA these days? It is a stinking heap of cow manure even without the Trots getting up in arms.

I always though Benji was a one of the Forum Gestapo but he appears to only be a mere mortal these days.

Whenever I try to at half time there is always some pikee chav in the trap having a cheeky smoke. -
Paying anything extra on-line is nonsense. I think Cortese has a cultural blind spot. We English hate being charged 'extras'. We prefer an up front 'all in' price. Sure, there is a cost to maintaining an internet ticket sales system. So stick it on the ticket price and dilute amongst all tickets sold. This really is a cultural thing. Some cultures like everything itemized, we tend not to - I think it is an endearing quality of ours that we should assume that the cost should be shared by all. Cortese is working off a spreadsheet model, not a human model. Nothing wrong with being business minded but sometimes - as in this case - the bigger gain is lost to short term calculations. Cortese has ****ed this up, his first big blunder.

Palace will be fine. I will bet anyone my left testicle that they will be in business at the start of next season. Football clubs just don't go out of business.
-
Thought: Could the fact that the club will not offer payment plans (credit) have anything to do with Mr Liebherr's religious/moral beliefs about debt? Didn't his family firm famously rise from nothing without taking on a single penny of debt?
-
I did. I always save £1,000 over a season which goes into a separate Nationwide account for all football tixs including ST, cup games and away days. But not everyone can save regular amounts. That is why the payment plan is important. Balls up.
-
Sorry Saint-Clark - wasn't having a pop at you. Just using your post as a jumping off point... This is crap.
-
Spot on. Christ sake, this shows NC's weakness in knowing how the other half live.
-
Why the **** should you have to pay more on the day? Not everyone lives within striking distance of SMS but we 'outlying supporters' do not always know if we can make match day. Sorry, this extra charge is crap. As for booking online at £3 extra! Give me a ****ing break! The internet is supposed to reduce costs! No one will use the internet now! Cortese has ****ed up big time.
-
This is a ****ing complete **** up by NC and the club. If you take your missus and one kid along then you will need to find the thick end of £1,000 in cash before August 8th. What ****ing planet is Cortese living on? No payment scheme! - give me a break. Up until now NC has done a good job. Not having a payment scheme has been his biggest **** up so far. Disappointing. Luckily, I have saved for my ST and will hand over the £318 in folding before the week is out. But for families and others whose cash-flow won't support it this will mean less STs are sold. What a crazy, crazy, crazy dumb-arsed idea. Not happy Mr Cortese. Not happy at all.
-
Crap. Now the club has no debt they could leverage ST demand at the bank and still have all the cash to spend now.
-
what a load of crap. I'm not paying that sort of money to support the Saints. I'm off to Fratton next season.
-
Exactly. My point too. I am a stridently strong supporter of Israel, as are many of my friends. We are all dismayed at the way Israel is seemingly playing the 'US card' and the 'holocaust card' against the rest of the world. Also, when it comes to a slap-down from the EU, the most powerful/influential member - Germany - suddenly finds better things to do with its time...
-
Doesn't apply. The ship was sailing under the Turkish flag but was not a military vessel.
-
I have always been a strong supporter of Israel. I am still a strong supporter of Israel. But **** me, are these people just plain ****ing dumb or what? They are arrogant beyond belief if they think they can do this sort of sh!te and that the rest of the world will not start equating the Star of David and the Swastika. Israel, whilst you maybe a secular state, you are still a population predominantly of Jews. 70 years ago the SS were herding your kin into gas chambers. Get the ****ing PR right will you. Stop acting like Nazis. Give the people of Gaza what they need.
-
No one, clearly you believe you are with all you sanctimonious arse-kissing.
-
errr... it happened in New Zealand...
-
Yeah. Saints are better than England. And I am going to buy a season ticket at Fratton next season.
