  1. How have we missed out on this guy. He was amazing for France in the World Cup. Would be one sure way of keeping Morgan. "Mathieu Valbuena's move to Dynamo Moscow is back on after the French midfielder failed to agree a deal at either QPR or West Ham. 2. See Barcelona are in England for 2 weeks training at St Georges Park. Wonder if Koeman could fix up a practise game with them. We need more games and this would be class.
  3. Made my day. Many many thanks MLG
  4. Why would a class player like Jack Cork want to go to a club like West Brom with an inexperienced manager when he can play for a top club with a top and experienced manager like Koeman. Besides we've just brought his best mate to the club for the season. Why do our posters never use logic and see it's a rehash from last season when Ryan Bertrand was playing for Villa and the media speculated Jack was wanting a move there to be near his good mate. Saints will be giving him a new contract. Ronald said he would take 3 weeks to have a look at everyone and then see to the contracts.
  5. I'm convinced Nigel would come back to Saints if ever asked me. I have always had so much respect for him and all he did. He understands how we Saints feel after being screwed in the same way he was. Talk about screwing, we're being screwed again tonight with no stream, no commentary. How the hell do they want us to be enthusiastic, when for the past week, not one video, photos of the squad. Can see why no one wants to buy season tickets. Screw them.
  6. Thanks for the trolling and taking what was written by the Echo and removing the commas. The Echo's article had commas either side of "LEFT" and were referring to the photo in the original article. QUOTE " As far as the club is concerned, Schneiderlin, left, remains available to be used as manager Ronald Koeman sees fit, after being informed he is an integral part of the Dutchman’s plans for the campaign."

  8. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11378558.Schneiderlin_to_sit_out_friendly_against_Brighton/?ref=mac Saints midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to sit out friendly against Brighton 10:33am Thursday 31st July 2014 in Saints News Daily Echo: Schneiderlin to sit out friendly against Brighton Schneiderlin to sit out friendly against Brighton Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is unlikely to be involved in Saints’ trip to Brighton tonight – but only because of fitness reasons. Saints visit the Amex Stadium this evening for their penultimate friendly of the summer, with French star Schneiderlin back among the squad after returning to Southampton this week. The 24-year-old is unhappy after being informed that he will not be allowed to leave St Mary’s, like Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers before him. Schneiderlin issued a message via Twitter on Tuesday night, saying the “amazing journey” he had been on with Saints in the last six years had been “destroyed”. That followed a meeting that is understood to have taken place with the club’s board, in which he was informed he would not be sold. Chairman Ralph Krueger also told the Daily Echo that neither Schneiderlin nor fellow Tottenham target Jay Rodriguez would be allowed to depart. Schneiderlin reported to the club’s training ground as normal yesterday morning, where he spoke with Koeman. It was alleged in some sections of the media that he had also handed in a transfer request, although sources at St Mary’s and close to Schneiderlin indicated that was not true. As far as the club is concerned, Schneiderlin, left, remains available to be used as manager Ronald Koeman sees fit, after being informed he is an integral part of the Dutchman’s plans for the campaign. However, having only just started his preseason preparations, after a late return date due to his involvement with the France squad that reached the quarter- finals of the World Cup, Schneiderlin is unlikely to be ready for action this evening. Saints boss Koeman will make a final decision today on whether he will travel, though. Tonight’s fixture promises to be Saints’ toughest test of preseason so far, against a Brighton side that reached the Championship playoffs last term. Saints have already played games against Dutch amateurs EHC Hoensbroek, Belgian minnows Sporting Hasselt, League One outfit Swindon Town and Championship team Bournemouth – winning all four games without conceding a goal. After tonight’s match, the only game left on the schedule before the Premier League kicks-off is a meeting with German club Bayer Leverkusen at St Mary’s on Saturday, August 9.

  10. Indeed Minty but the standard of the SPL has really deteriorated since those days with no Rangers to keep Celtic on the toes. Marshall has SPL experience but with the added one year of tested Premier League experience to his advantage.
  11. I understand your point. He's rarely tested in the SPL. I'm basing my opinion of how he's performed each time he's been used for England. Ben Foster was far superior and doesn't get flustered like Forster.
  12. Top article Duncan. Hope they'll have all the players doing the same. A modern form of Strachan's running up sand dunes which is still very popular with Scots club in pre season.
  13. The Scotsman reporting this morning that Napoli are in for Van Now Napoli want van Dijk NAPOLI are the latest club to be linked with a move for Celtic stopper Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch defender is on the radar of several clubs including Swansea, Southampton, Sunderland, and Hamburg and now Rafa Benitez could swoop to bring the highly-rated centre half to Italy. The ex-Liverpool and Chelsea boss has reportedly added van Dijk to his list of targets after a string of impressive performances while Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is eying the 23-year-old as he looks to rebuild at St Mary’s. (The Sun)
  14. I've never thought much of Forster and last night convinced me he's not the goalkeeper we should be signing. I still prefer David Marshall although originally would have had us go for Ben Foster before he signed a new contract.
  15. Matteo used Ryan as a left winger with Ashley Cole at left back. Who knows Koeman's plans and get the impression he likes players who can play more than one position. I believe under Koeman, Ryan's speed will be more in demand than defending. I also feel we will be signing someone else for the left back position.
  16. Victor Moses anyone?
  17. Now that would be one for the club hahaha
  18. They are best mates. When Ryan was at Villa, he and Jack spent the weekend together after Saints played them.
  19. Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 4m .@ryanbertrand3 arrival should ease concerns about @jackcork1's future. The pair grew close at #CFC & will have surely spoken about the move
  20. I would laugh my ar se off if Bertrand displaces Shaw in the England team after coming into his own playing for Saints.
  21. Boring James Milner @BoringMilner · 30m I said to Yaya are we playing Liverpool or Southampton? He said Great joke, James. It's funny because Liverpool bought 3 Southampton players
  22. The national media are all bull sh*te. Their journos are so fu cking lazy and print any crap. Morgan trained today and it's been reported he's out to dinner with other players. No transfer request and no protests, anger http://talksport.com/football/schneiderlin-has-not-handed-transfer-request-southampton-140730104699
