I think the clump is now the chilworth arms, and is currently being refurbished for the umpteenth time? If we're talking southampton/eastleigh area, you really cant beat the Concorde. I know its a club, but the Moldy Fig bar is open to the public, theres plenty of parking, easy to get to, and the food is better than just about any pub ive been to. Cricketers isnt a bad shout and neither is the Swan, but theyre not in the same league as the Concorde. Nearer the southampton side, theres always my regular watering hole, the Ship at redbridge. Good food and reasonably priced, can recommend it thoroughly. Gets very busy most lunchtimes.

I think Nigel said in an interview that it was a loan with a view to a permanent deal. The manager and player may have been hedging their bets, possibly DS had promotion down as a factor in whether he'd sign or not. Will be interesting to see what happens, I thought he looked a very tidy and useful player in the few games I saw him. Not many players set the world alight in their first few games for a new club.
