was there a former saints manager with him? (only mention that as otherwise it might be irrelevant to the thread, nobody particular in mind......)
-
that ought to spark a reaction.....
-
oddly enough, he wasnt all that liberal tbh, he was a staunch supporter of capital punishment and avidly in favour of the UK nuclear deterrent. Neither of which went down too well with the party.

Theres no point in calling me a Cortese "lapdog", I thought the Pardew sacking was an appalling idea on the face of it, in fact I cant see any point in namecalling over this at all. fwiw I agree with you on your point about the pink/echo not getting pics of the game in consideration of the older fans. However no matter how bad Cortese might or might not be, he could not possibly sink to the depths of contempt in which I hold murdoch and the tabloids. NC and ML saved our club, remember; imo he deserves a hell of a lot of slack for that, particularly on a matter that really doesnt affect the team. And do you seriously think Cortese or anybody working for him would float the idea of changing the team colours to blue or renaming the club?

I'd be along as well, if we could only find a station that had a train every 30 minutes.

Well, the post I quoted referred to it as a business decision, and I dont see it that way myself, more of a point being made by Cortese. Financially its not likely to make any difference to the club either way at the moment, tho I accept it would if and when we return to the prem. And if the whole of the national press boycott a prem side regardless of the current ban I will fry my hat and consume it with garlic butter. While the press in general are affected by it, the Sun are certainly the most prominent whiners about the ban and the instigators of the name-blanking. Which is also why most posters on here seem to regard it as a spat between the club and the Sun. Corteses action could be viewed as either pathetic, childish and pointless, as you see it, or his prerogative as chairman of the club which is how I do. It doesnt make any difference to me as I never read the dailies at all apart from the condensed versions in the Week. And being 49, theres no point telling me to grow up. If I havent by now I'm not likely to

thats the most laughable comment I ever heard, unless you meant "publicity"
-
Why on earth would you regard it as a business decision? And Ive got no particular feelings about it either way, but as long as its the club's stance then I'd rather support Saints than the S*n. I cant see that it makes any significant difference to us at all, if theres anyone that can only get their Saints news via the S*n I feel sorry for them....
-
they do that whether theyre "on your side" or not. Dont ever credit the gutter press with good intentions or loyalty, the terms are not in their vocabulary.
-
its not, in any meaningful sense. Thats the point many on here seem to be missing.

+1, and a point I made when this all kicked off. I cant understand why its supposed to be 'bad' for the club that some tabloid rag only fit to wipe your ar5e with decides to refer to us as "The South Coast Club" and whine pathetically to mummy that the nasty mans wont let them take their piccy wiccys inside the gwound. I say f*ck them, and back the people who run the club. Our club.
-
her head hair or elsewhere?
-
"and a Charlie Austin's strike" "They reinacted Pericard's opener" thick as f*cking pigsh*t, the S*n can't even spellcheck/grammarcheck their own copy. Retards

+1....

I just posted this on the rumour thread as well, somebody told my builder 20 minutes ago it will be klinsmann. Seems like utter bullsh*t to me tho, any thoughts?
-
this is almost certainly boll*cks, but someone just told my builder to get a bet on Klinsmann
-
wimp. get stuck in like usual.
-
whenever the name hoddle crops up on here my heart is screaming 'nooooo, anybody but that god-bothering gadgie-dissing ship-jumping tw*t', while my head is calmly and rationally murmuring 'good move, that. Why didnt we do it before?'
-
We dont know that at all do we? The fact that the new manager wasnt immediately announced doesnt mean Cortese hasnt got one lined up.
-
While I agree with Dune's analysis of the Lowe years, its worth remembering that the people Cortese represents are actually financing the club, not milking it for all its worth like the duckhunter. As long as its his wallet then frankly its his call. fwiw I thought the AP axing wasn't the greatest of moves, and I'm struggling to see any potential replacements that would be seen as a clear step upwards from Pards, but who knows? Lets wait and see, we might yet be amazed again......
-
I've wondered whether the AP sacking was ready to go ahead, but then Markus passed away and it would have been seen as insensitive or very poor timing. A mate has another theory which was that Markus was keen to keep AP on, but Cortese wanted him out long ago.

saw a silver ford galaxy taxi on the M271 yesterday with an odd numberplate, MR5 4 GAY. anyone else seen it? and why would a gay bloke want a mrs? [insert beard jokes here]

can you remember the last time he said anything bad about anybody on the football league show?
