I was in a Norfolk cinema watching Back To The Future, and suddenly thought "bloody hell, he's going to f*ck his mother!!" Luckily, the usher caught them and chucked them both out.

Nice one

This. I also would have thought that if he wanted to consider a coaching career after his playing days are over, he could stay on here because of that.

While Jim Appell struggled to check in to his French hotel, Gordon Morgan was desperately trying to order breakfast in his German one.

I agree, but it sounds possible to me after the last few managers. Nigel got sacked after back to back promotions, pards got sacked before him, and the poch thing always struck me as a muddle ; he did that initial interview when it was suggested cortese might get the boot, and pochs reaction was that if cortese went he'd go as well. I know he issued a revised statement, but that always seemed to me like an agreement to see out the season, like morgan and vic. But yes, it would be nice to have some continuity although that doesn't seem to happen much these days.

I tend to believe that the board weren't bothered about him staying, and that if they'd wanted him to see out his contract he would have stayed. I'm not itk, but I remember one of the resident ones suggesting that, and given our record on replacing managers it seems plausible to me.

"Could I have one of those leaflets about penis size?" I asked the receptionist. "As quickly as you can, I'm late for my appointment." "How long have you got?" she asked. I said "That's the one."

It's great that they've settled so well on Merseyside. Genuinely heartwarming, I'm delighted for both of them and wish him well.

I think the labour party know that, whelk. They didn't want to win the last election, that's why they got ed miliband in charge, and that's why they've got corbyn in now.

The Irish had a veto as well, which they tried to use twice, against the Nice treaty and the Lisbon treaty. So they were told to be good little children, stop sulking, sit down and try again until they got the answer right.

When the policeman arrived to arrest me for bestiality, all my girlfriend could do was just stand there and watch. Then she wagged her tail, dropped her ball at his feet and barked.

What's got four legs and one arm? A pitbull in a playground.

My German girlfriend likes to rate my sexual performance on a scale of 1 to 10. Last night we tried anal for the first time. She kept yelling "9!" "9!" I didn't even know she spoke English, but that's my best score yet.

My wife caught me in bed with a female midget. "You absolute bastard!" she screamed. "You promised never to cheat on me again." "Give me a bit of credit," I said. "At least I'm cutting down."

No it's not. Lenny Henry won't be in the travelodge, that's got to be a plus.

It might be worth avoiding joking about him, tbh. I seem to recall that he had a particularly nasty health problem a couple of years back which may have been ongoing. He's been posting on here very rarely over the last few months.

Didn't Koeman get injured himself during a training session? Unless he was faking it in order to realise his lifelong dream of a move to Everton.

Where did you see eddie and the hotrods? On a double bill with the Feelgoods at the Concorde club, by any chance?

I believe it's colder there.

There's no doubt about it, we've peaked. The only way is down, just like the last half dozen seasons. No way can we match that progress. Except that we seem to keep doing it.
-
Can you point to a single thread at the beginning of any season where you haven't said the same thing on this board?
-
At least they aren't saying "disappointed."

If we're not in the eu and not in the eurozone, and we're concerned about exports, wouldn't a weaker pound against the dollar be a good thing?
-
You could have said exactly the same after the disastrous events of Black Wednesday. Absolute catastrophe which we'd never recover from. Somehow, we survived. Sterling was lower for a while, and the FTSE, but both recovered very quickly. I just this moment bought some euros, 1.163 to the pound. Not much difference from the last time we went abroad.

Basically, democracy has already worked. A fairly clear decision on a single issue with a high voter turnout was made.
