  1. quick, somebody do #lotterynumbers
  2. i said interesting. i meant what everyone expects him to say.
  3. footballer runs out of money, has to try and say something interesting to stand a chance of getting invited back.
  4. hence the word more. yeah we did well with lovren. I don't remember flores being such a disgrace last season though and he only cost £2m. i think you've taken my post as criticism of our record on those signings. my earlier post was there to show how nearly everybody failed to sign a decent striker. I'm just impressed with Swansea bucking a trend in that area of the market. would swansea have finished higher with gaston and osvaldo instead? i'm sure you're just mischief making.
  5. if we'd signed bony this season instead of osvaldo or michu last season instead of gaston we could have been a lot more comfortable. swansea have some chops in the transfer department.
  6. how many really good strikers were signed last summer? off the top of my head osvaldo van wolfswinkel altidore cornelius soldado in january mitroglu al a bit ****e. bony is the one I can think of who has done well. our alternative to osvaldo was damiao who would have cost a lot more and hasn't done well either.
  7. eventually, he wsn't given assurances so he's going somewhere else/nowhere. the cycle of newspaper journalism completes.
  8. I just watced the video. There's enough use of the words intend and intention for me to feel positive about it.
  9. you could infer that we want but can't. a clearer word would have been intend.
  10. he'll need the doctor judging by the age of this thread.
  11. dear southampton board. i'm in a difficult financial situation. I can afford to renew my season ticket but the mixed messages coming from the club are giving me pause for thought.
  12. as long as the players we well are replaceable. shaw and chambers, neither are indispensable. losing the likes of lallana will be gutting. we'll have to go through a number of Gastons and/or academy generations before we find anything comparable. if there had been money available to invest in keeping and supplementing the squad it's a damn shame that ffp will scupper it. who thought it was good idea to prevent owners introducing capital?
  13. the crap about an option to buy was a bunch of mongs on here that thought that clause was of any benefit to us. we got his salary off our books for part of the season which is a benefit. I doubt a permanent move would have been forthcoming from anyone with consecutive clubs wanting rid of him and him getting past his peak.
  14. an option to buy is in favour of the buyer. if the player performs better than the agreed price then the buyer with the option gets a cut price deal. it's not a waste of time, it was just never for our benefit. did anyone expect us to get a deal slanted in our favour when he was never going to play for us again and he's one of if not our highest salary on the books?
  15. or because they were **** for a very long time like Villa.
  16. interestingly timed to coincide with season ticket announcement.
  17. it's not well documented. it's documented, probably translated, and then regurgitated repeatedly. internets.
  18. i think it's more like Liebherr group was estimated to be worth enough that markus's equal share of his father's company would have equated to 3bn assuming his investments had kept pace since his disposal of shares in the family company.
  19. we paid 50% more for Gaston AFAIK.
  20. from what i've heard from burnley fans ings has a good all round game.
  21. that being said, puncheon didn't want to be here. he might have been as bad as ramirez.
  22. some people are so desperate to disagree with glasgow and barry that they will defend the indefensible.
  23. And Carlos Ruiz. Is Tijuana Tim about?
  24. they shouldn't have played for everton at all.
