billy bragg imo found a niche matket and made money from it, the fact that he actually has socialist values and wrote songs with themn in mind makes him a decent perosn. if we were talking about phil collins and his touching drivel, another day in paradise you need to know the sond that i am referring to to appreciate how vile it is that HE sings is, then we would be barking up the right tree. leave bb alone unless of course you have a massive chip on your shoulder about socialism actually working.....then carry on talking out of your collective arses.

Don't agree. the more wealthy the socialist the harder they get hit when the economy takes a dip, they don't have the benefit of the benefit system that they herald to fall back on.

/\ reminds of the story i heard of a young couple living in the country who were having problems in the bedroom as the husband could not sustain an erection. chatting about his little problem to the local farmer in the village pub, the farmer invites him over the next day to see how he overcame a similar problem with one of his prize bulls who could not perform his duties. next day Billy arrives at the farm and they both gingerly walk up to the top field where the farmer proceeds to put his hand up a cows lady parts and then wipes his hand over the bull's face. the bull then snorts loudly, mounts said cow and does his business with vigour and gusto. off Billy goes home and carries his wife up to their bedroom. billy copies what the farmer showed him, rubbing the juices over his own face. it's not a class thing and massively unfair imo. it is as popular, if not moreso, amongst the working people as it amongst the toffs. i would not persoanlly wish to be a specator at these events but i would be equally girly walking into a bernard matthews shed....but i have to eat. by the same token i would not be too happy with a bunch of sabs blocking my entrance. just as with testing cosmetics on animals, we all like to have clean hair and smell nice which in itself does not justify the testing but does explain why there is a market which sadly requires that chemicals are squiretd into something's eyes.

opposing teams find themselves chasing shadows when up against certain types of wingers, punch imho is of that ilk. he's not gone yet but i reckon that it was the prospect of playing second fiddle to oc that prompted him to be unsettled, that is not necesarily a bad trait as we (as do all other clubs) have players who might be happy to play the dumb winston bogard role. many would complain (and do) at players who just collect their wages and show little desire to actually ply their trade.

So in conclusion what are you saying?

it was never ours to 'give away' though. it is/was one nation ruling others on a precept of doing them a favour. how ever did they cope before we raped their land and people (literally)? did the woolworth empire collapse or did they simply run out of supporters, it collapsed. the only reason we still have the remaining outposts is because WE need them and i am not sure really why this is debated tbh.
