SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
Big John replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
I have never believed that rumour and have no reason to think otherwise. -
Some of the things that he achieved dueing his tenure at saints he certainly did achieve things worthy of an award imho The whole reason that his name attracts so much debate is testimony to his impact on the football world, Kevin Keegan singing for one.
-
Are not all awards PR exercises for someone or some cause?
-
Not spotted this elsewhere, sorry if already posted. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8850348.Lawrie_Mac_gets_surprise_award_at_Saints_125th_anniversary_celebrations/ "Saints legendary manager Lawrie McMenemy was shocked and surprised when he was presented with a lifetime achievement award at a celebration of the club’s 125th anniversary last night. The surprise came at a gala dinner at Southampton’s De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel. The award was presented by Tommy Docherty, manager of the Manchester United side beaten by Saints in the 1976 FA Cup final" Well done big man.

i bet there's loads of young brides out there who'd love to have their ceremony straight after a gay wedding, the floral decor would be better than any straight girl could muster even with the help of daddy's life savings and mummy's chrysanths. i have attended weddings where the straight groom has got off with am ex at the reception hours after promising himself to one woman, I have also been to weddings where the I have known the groom only through gay friends. It's not always the church that is the bigger hypocrite.

+1 but not the losing team should the winners qualify by other means. take our last final, in the build up Monsieur Wenger told the media that we had achieved our goal of eiropean football as they were qualifying through league standing. was he right? I don't think we should have been allowed personally and neither should any other losing team, not even into the Uefa.
-
you may have nailed it there deppo, would you agree that mannish behaviour is often a red herring?
-
Are people okay with people using churches as pretty back-drop's for their photo albums?
-
currently, yes. forget matchdays dune, think access to waterfront development 7 days a week. imho the sale of JF is the singlemost important factor in the development of either the sms area (or just the stadium). with JF being an SFC assett it would (most importantly) balance the books ie no capital gain as the proceeds are re-inversted and no interest payments on a loan. all possible without dependency on Prem League income or player sales. it's genius really

..with direct rail link and covered walkway right down to waterfront bars. Is that plan for fleets of water taxis still going ahead to and from the development of the old Vosper's yard, anyone know?
-
American Wharf has been For sale for ages. I would guess that buying that though would alert others of the seriousness of the plan, prices might rise accordingly as there is a common held view that the club have so much money that they will pay any price to acquire their desired assets. I do'nt think that Mr Cortese was put in place for being a spendthrift though, as we have all seen. Purchasing property in the chapel ind est might mean that the club could build a decent rail platform perhaps?

Tunisia was a bit bloody though tbf

precisely, it's pretty momentous and will be talked about more than most other revolutions, i find ir so interesting. so hard to read between the lines with this one.

deppo is a ****? deppo are ****s? -
is she itk about the resent decision that was made about 8 of the county's current 12 day day centres? they decided the other day which way forward for you and me and they already know which 8 are closing, there is a feeling amongst some staff that they have been a little duped with regards their own future's.

again no disrespect but you will hopefully never know what life is like with no way of leaving your home let alone getting ona bus without someone to support you and make sure you get home safely afterwards. there's no money in the most important transport network, imho only a chrity could possibly run OUR transport system on a more ethical basis than it is currently run.
-
no disrespect but that is very funny imho.
-
time for a bit of this methinks
-
Deppo, in years to cme your grandchildren will learn in school about the diferences between this revolution and that in the former yugodlavia. you will be able to help them with their homework and they will love you. that is why it is important to you. it's a bit like following saints but on a bigger scale.not as important i grant you but worth taking a slight interest in perhaps. the other thing is that we might all die now. nicola out

will any of the current squad be allowed to attend i wonder?
-
The memo went out to all unit managers and (I assume) head teachers. They were distributed by the Director fof Environments office. It is titled Contract Transport - Procurement framework The 'framework' is already in place "for purchasing 'transport' ..." How much time do you think managers have been promised when a new company takes over the whole transport management of the entire unit?
-
OMG I never realised that. lol

Prefer Jaidi tbh.
