I agree but looking at what has happened with players off the pitch, and with "players revolts" at staplewood etc, he is laying down the law quick.

Just to spoken to mate of mine who is very good friends with a current player. After the game AP went into the changing room called in all the pro squad even if they didnt play today and laid down some rules already. A quick summary is "I want us to get the winning habit quickly" "I expect us to win our home games from day one starting next week against Hearts" "Im big on discipline basically expects players to arrive training on time and for other "team events" "Present themselves accordingly in Public" "We are all this in together" "If you have to many lapses I will **** you off" Im not saying the players name, but he was very happy with these demands and more which he wouldnt tell me and said AP is here for the long term. Things will be done his way and his way only. I like AP more and more!

Wouldnt say we are stronger than last year! I now football is all about opinion but I disagree I think we need at least 4 or 5 players in there. These would have to be solid players mixed in with the youth we have. I know AP loves his wingers, so maybe a couple of older heads in the centre with some young sprintly wingers. If Lee Holmes even gets back to proper fitness I think he will be in most games for AP

Quite enjoyed it, we seemed to let in it go in the last 15 mins. No one really stood out apart from KD, but did think Murty was solid and would do a job in league 1 in front of KD. Have to say their last goal I thought was a qulity strike, other than that it was just a normal friendly. AP got a good reception as did ML Crowd I say was around 19 -20k, although might be wrong

I know his other half (who is expecting any week now). I have just text her to see if any truth in the matter, will let you know. But I wouldnt mind him here next season, its people like him with some fight etc you need

Onwards and upwards now peeps. Be interesting to see who he brings in. One thing I do like about AP is his desire and commitment he shows on the touch line

Although bookies have stopped taking money on it it seems http://www.betting-directory.com/sports-betting-article2163.html "The Bookies have stopped taking bets on this market as it seems like the deed has been done and the new Southampton manager is going to be Gordon Strachan. Gordon has recently parted with Celtic and this looks another tough assignment for the Scot but no better man. All of this comes in the wake of the new buyout of the club and it seems that things could be getting better for the southern club. Sky Bet's Mike Triffitt said: "Strachan is the only candidate that customers have wanted to back since news broke of Wotte's sacking yesterday. "We took a steady stream of decent bets from the Southampton area at odds against last night and this morning we had several requests for four-figure bets at 8/13. We are close to suspending the market as, if the money is to be believed, Strachan will be making a return to St Mary's."

well I know some are not happy with his involvement. I personally have had a "heated discussion" with him over the SISU issue But saying that, he obvioulsy brought the swiss to the table so fair play. Lets hope he brings even more successfull ideas to the club
