Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney acknowledged the club do have the right to appeal. Speaking on Sky Sports News, he said: 'There is an appeal mechanism and it's up to Southampton to decide whether they want to appeal and on what basis.'

Ill say it again, everything was in place, the money, the director listings etc etc. The problem came when it came to Pinnacle signing the football license. Of course they knew about the 10 points, what they didnt know about until last night / today was the clause of "NON APPEAL". We might even not appeal against the 10 points, or appeal and lose. The problem here is having the right to appeal, which by British law is a legal requirement. Me personally woult take the 10 points, and we have but surely would you like to be able to question it

I see this act from the FL basically as industrial blackmail! A few months back when SLH went into admin it took a week or so for the FL to come up with a decision. During that time they must have had their legal teams look at all the in and outs of the penalty they handed to us and thought it was concrete. The problem I have now with it is Pinnacle have said they want the right to challenge it and the FL have said no and if you do or want to we will not issue your football license. Which is wrong and like I said blackmail! If they thought their case was solid then give us the license and then lets battle it out in court. So what happens now, the FL have a weekend for the legal team again to look at the ins and outs again. They will either back down or in my opinion do the decent thing, issue the license and then let Pinnacle decide to challenge it iin court. We might lose that appeal but at least we have had the chance! Also GM your are way of the mark. Yes Pinnacle knew about the 10 points, but I can tell you that on Wednesday when the FL accepted the director listing all was fine it was not until last evening and today that when the FL went to issue the license they had the "NOT TO CHALLENGE" clause thrown in. This is nothing to do with money or the 10 points it is the chance to appeal against it. Who knows Pinnacle might have not appealed, but not being given the chance to because of the FL is wrong

Dear All I know many of you are sitting tight eagerly expecting some news, so I'm taking 2 minutes out to make you aware of some issues that we are trying to resolve to complete our takeover. Please respect the fact that I cannot go into the finer details of some of the legal issues - myself, colleagues and clients are bound by a non disclosure agreement in respect of the sensitive details, and this will be adhered to at all times. You may be aware that a brief announcement was made earlier this afternoon confirming that, despite our continued efforts, there are some outstanding issues to resolve prior to us being in a position to completing our takeover. There are to my mind 2 legal issues - questions which need to be answered. These I am sure will be put to bed without delay. A further remaining issue is that of the Football Leagues position over our license. Again, it would be hoped that this can be confirmed without delay. My colleagues and I, clients and the Administrator have made our position clear to the Football League on the detail of this issue. I cannot go into it now, but it is cricitcal that this is resolved, and in a timely manner. We will continue to work hard with the Administrator to resolve this, as this is in my view the final piece of the jigsaw. My hope is that all outstanding issues will be resolved without undue delay, as we are itching to get on with the important job of rebuilding this great Club - both for ourselves, the supports, and the wider community. I hope the next announcement that we can make will be to introduce your new owner and Board, and our opportunity to set out our vision for the future. Best wishes to you all Tony Lynam

At school, and the remember our teacher telling us he had signed. I remember running home to ask my step dad. Sat glued to the tv that night watching the news. The next day I remember playing footy on the school pitch and evryone was KK. It was a real buzz. Spoke to my step dad not so long ago, who said a signing like Keegan then would be like be like signing Ronaldo now which to be fair is true.

What people have to remeber is that if it doesnt happen Friday, it is not the end of Pinnacle or the club. Friday is the last day exculsivity thats all. Also that the deadline is 23:59:59 so nothing might happen until Monday. (exit2 gets down on his knees and prays it does happen on Friday:) )

Graig Short was his name. David Lee I think stamped on shearers foot in the box and like u say Ruddock ran the pitch length and headbutted him after the little fracas that took place

I was surprised at how many league one grounds I had been to to watch Saints over the years. I think it was 19 watching Saints plus 2 others I have been to see games, when I have been working away from home. So how mnay grounds have you been to with Saints and without and what grounds you looking forward to going to. Even memories of past games. For me has to be Tranmere losing 4-3 Southend on a Friday night pre season I think about 29 Saints fans and Woggy gave us all free tickets! Brentford in the league cup about 9 years ago. Met up with some mates from London and we had to have 2 pints in every pub that was on each corner of the ground!

right enough of the insults, harrasement, relief, concern etc etc etc there is no need for this thread to continue. As for Friday, that is the end of the period for exclusivity. It doesnt mean the deal will be done and dusted
