Thanks Baj...Sorry for being thick but how does the sata cable connect to my knackered hard drive ? All i have is a USB connection ??

I have finally got round to dismantling my external hard drive & as far as i can see I have no additional connections except the USB & power connections I already use ... how am i going to connect to PC??

My 1TB external hard drive has died ( water damage i think !!) Anyway how easy are they to dismantle & try to hook up to my destop PC to see if any data is recoverable? Will it still still need a power supply or will the PC power it with a connection via SATA ? Cheers
