  1. Just back from Rose Bowl. Ervine's immense knock was special in that from the time the 8th wicket went down, Somerset had every one on the boundary and he turned loads of runs down. He just kept hitting at least one boundary each over. I thought that was a bit hard on Tommo when he had just got a career best, but it worked. Once slug got to 200 he just teed off against their opening bowlers. Brilliant! P.S Trescothick out lbw Griffiths 41. 60-1
  2. It was played at Wellington. Did we pay for the pitch?
  3. So , apart from the fact that Pards has stated on more than one occasion, that he will field his strongest side and Arsenal are at home this weekend...... What's new?
  4. cold Isn't Hilditch the aussies Chairman of Selectors now?
  5. Have Radio 5 run an interview today with that bloke they had on before? He spoke a lot of sense.
  6. 109-3 Adams 53* Lloyd James Benham 18 McKenzie 12. Is a decent threefigure partnership too much to ask for.
  7. Got any bowlers who fancy a maiden 100? Well put them in against Hampshire for a guaranteed result.
  8. 42-4 Amla out for 5. Ervine's 1st ball, caught down the legside by Pothas. Its the hope that kills you.
  9. Totally agree, Stu. I tried at various away games to get "Wind up, Pompey" started. But failed.
  10. "We want six."
  11. If he leaves to manage in Germany (Wolfsberg?) will he start speaking like Sgt. Schultz in "Hogans Heroes". One for the kids there. ;-)
  12. Who will be the the first numpty to come on here saying that he should replace Pards.
  13. Steve Baker isn't a skinhead, nor "massive" for that matter. He came on for Le Tiss after 10 mins and played on the right of midfield for the rest of the match.
  14. Don't you mean Moira Stewart? or Myra Hindley?
  15. Saints won 5-1. Le tiss lasted all of 10 mins before pulling a fetlock. Saints: Paul Jones, Dodd, Benali, Paul Williams, Widdrington, Tessem, David Hughes,, Howells, Le Tiss, Rod Wallace, Banger. Subs included Steve Baker, Andy Cook and possibly one of LeTiss' brothers. Chelski: Unknown keeper, Bumstead, Pates, Clive Wilson, Graham Wilkins, David Lee, Cannoville, Walker, Hall, Stanley, Tore Andre Flo, Kieth Dublin. Pretty dull to watch and spent most of the time catching up with long lost relatives. No sign of Kenny Monkou, or Frank Sidebottom (a.k.a. Shipperley). Ian Baird also rested as he has a Charity boxing match at the DeVere on Thursday. Also saw Super Kelv and Sir Rickie, along with Lawrie Mac. Decent enough crowd, so hope the charities benefitted.
  16. Sorry to be a pedant, Mr Shi te, but it wasn't Semi, who was skinned for the 2nd goal. It was Lloyd James, in keeping with the rest of his performance. An excellent read nonetheless.
  17. But stood in vain waiting for the train door to open was a priceless moment.
  18. But from how many years ago are you basing that opinion?
