This sort of thread is not helping the situation. Fortunately we are in a free society and anybody can buy shares in the club. The fact is Lowe and Wilde hold most shares so they run the club that is the way it is. Boycotting the club will achieve little as no one will want to buy shares to oust Lowe and Wilde. The better the club does there is more chance somebody will buy into it. Hating Lowe is really hurting the club

You raise an interesting point which I have often wondered about. How much affect does a manager have on a team and how long does it take for him to make a positive contribution and the team to gell. Take Dowie why has he been at so many clubs for such a short amount of time why will anybody employ him -

Yes I agree but we have no money to buy in some quality players and that is our real problem. Realistically we need a RB CB RM and a Striker but we cannot afford them -

Because that is the strategy I think Lowe wants in the long term A first team with a number of homegrown players plus other quality players from outside Like Rasiak Safri Davis I think that is a reasonable approach which as worked before. Buying a whole team is costly and with our finances has proved not to work both in the Premiership and now in the Championship. But in the meantime we have to survive the best we can -

Say we kept Mills and Cranie and did not recruit Powell and Makin. Suppose we kept Blackstock and Best and did not recruit Saga and BWP Would we not be in a better position both financially and on the pitch. -
If we are still in bottom three at the end of january......

Because we had no players coming through from the Academy we had to spend the tranfer budget on getting in the whole team as oppossed to getting in 60 percent of the team. -

I think it is ridiculous to suggest that the board who have a long term strategy of producing youngsters should not be telling the manager what the strategy was it is not intereference. That is the reason we now have JP and Wotte as I have said and others too it is because unlike the past when we had players like Hollywood Paine Chivers Dean Holmes Stokes Andruszewski Agboola Williams Hebberd Waldron Channon Moran Dodd Benali Le Tissier Shearer Danny Wallace Rod Wallace etc we did not apart from Bridge and to some extent Baird have any young players coming through which caused our decline -
There were less teams in the league during Lowes time

That is why I think it is important that our youngsters are given a chance. Channon was not that good when he first played but that of course soon changed

Yes you maybe right but who actually knows. No never met Lowe but I do agree with his strategy - The Best Saints Teams mostly had a number of players brought up through the ranks . I think Lowe looks at the long term but most managers think of the short term they are not bothered about what happens in next season. I am not certain that Crouch was planning for the future when he was in charge but Hone was as he was possibly expecting lots of dosh from SISU
-
Unprofessional Poster who probably has no idea of the true facts.
-
Success will be if we stay up and dont go into administration because we then should be able to improve. As I fully expected us to struggle I am not surprised to find us in the relegation zone but we need to change tactics and get in new personnel not complete youngsters
-
Probably only Pearson knows the true answer I certainly dont
-
I think Nick G is saying that some of your comments may not be correct they maybe how you interpret things and may not be real facts We are all Saints fans but have differing views
-
But you are biased as you dont like Lowe and some of your assumptions may not be correct. Lowe has not failed yet as we are not in administration and have not been relegated in fact we are virtually where we were before he took over and our finances are probably in a better shape

I think this one of the most realistic posts I have read today. However I think we should complement our youngsters with a couple of more experinced players by selling Dyer Lallana or Surman -
Only Davis has played well this seaso followed by Surman Lallana seems to flatter to deceive as he is not making or scoring goals
-
We have played enough games including Pre-season to show you are a little deluded. Pretty football is not leading to goals and that is what football is all about
-
Yes but getting in Pulis Smith Pekhart etc has not been successful We need another strategy surely ie Physically Stronger Defensive Players An a better formation at home one up is not going to win us much at home
-
If he changed to 4 4 2 that would affect the Academy and Reserve Teams too as the formation is for use in all teams.
-
Perhaps we should be drinking in the Osbourne. The daughter's boyfriend is a Reading Season ticket holder and is giving me a lot of verbals. I am not looking forward to the game in two weeks time
-
No I think he is a very skillful player but he is not contributing to our team's results and he cant shoot. He may look good but it is results which count. I think if he could be sold for lots of money and we invested in a couple of strong fullbacks the team would perform better. It would perform better if we had physically stronger defenders but we cannot get them as we have no money. Yes I agree the formation is no good it is much too defensive
-
I think 4 2 3 1 is of no use here. If it was why are other clubs not playing it. It is only good if you have top class wingers like Paine and Sydenham
