  1. Can somebody tell me if TV money really was £51million a season in 2007. I can't remember but it seems a huge amount to me. (I'm not accepting Ho's word for it.)
  2. Point number one - ffs give it a rest. He said £8m & it turned out to be £10m - in the greater scheme of Pompey's criminality it is insignificant. Point number two - turnover is not the same as income. And debts of 80% of turnover are not sustainable. Others dealt with theirs, yours just grew and grew. (And before you start nit-picking - your debts were 82.86% of turnover)
  3. Having read their comments, the Brighton fans most definitely get it. I had to check a couple of comments to see if they were TSW stalwarts in disguise, but they were long-standing posters. I'm sure someone (Ho perhaps?) has been on here assuring us that it only our paranoid little minds, twisted with bitterness and envy, that saw Pompey as the disgrace they are, not the whole of football. The Seagull fans have gone up in my estimation.
  4. I'm not normally one of his greatest fans, but I thought he put a real shift in yesterday. My only complaint is that between yesterday & the Hull game he must have placed six free headers in the six-yard box over or wide when all he needed to do was get it on target.
  5. Totally agree - look at the stats from the Beeb - very unusual for a team with the far higher count of possession, shots & corners to concede double the fouls of the other team. Ref was one of the worst I have seen. Possession Southampton 54% Blackpool 46% Attempts on target Southampton 9 Blackpool 4 Attempts off target Southampton 11 Blackpool 4 Corners Southampton 5 Blackpool 3 Fouls Southampton 18 Blackpool 9
  6. But then the agent demands a huge commission against a dismal fee and passes half of his cut back to Mr Chainrai in a brown envelope.
  7. To be honest, you don't really need a degree in psychology to work that one out.
  8. You really are a vey irritating person, aren't you? Do you deliberately fail to see the bigger picture in your cheese-paring, nit-picking little world, or does it pass you by as you try to find tiny details to score points on. We may have got some small details wrong, but we nailed Antonov as a dodgy chancer on day one and we are vindicated. As far as your absence from this site is concerned, I have two theories - either that you have needed a week or two to trawl through all the posts to find some irrelevant little thing to pick up on, or work is very busy at the moment, being Santa's little elf helper in the Portsea Primark.
  9. Another date for our already crowded skate-watching diaries..... A spokesman for the Football League confirmed the club will be discussed by officials on December 8, adding ‘it is too early to say what will happen’.
  10. He's just a BS merchant. He said it before (in the Prem), but he thinks if he keps saying it, it is harder for the League to act. I read nothing into it either way.
  11. And let's not forget the ongoing court case with Mandy and Arry, with Storrietellers turning QE. If anyone tried to pass the FAPPT to buy Poopey, they would have to be rejected on sanity grounds if nothing else.
  12. A league one player at best. And he doesn't exactly fit into Nigel's 'intelligent players' plan, does he? He gives headless chickens a bad name.
  13. The problem now is that Chainrai will 'reluctantly' step back in, claim to be trying to save them, but can only do so if the CVA payments are put back another couple of years, not have to pay their VAT and the FL loans them the money to keep going. Cue another round of 'quality over quantity' signings in Jan and another desperate push for the Prem, or another go at finding someone willing to exchange 6 months in the limelight for some well cleaned money. I predict page thousand will come and go with barely a whimper, and those of us that wished the a slow death better hope we're young enough to last to the culmination of this thread.
  14. At least when they get demoted to the Conference they will feel at home.... From the BBC Fleetwood missed the chance to go top of the Blue Square Bet Premier table and had settle for a draw at Gateshead. Cod Army substitute Magno Vieira had a chance to win the game but saw his right-footed shot saved by Jak Alnwick.
  15. I read the Observer on a Sunday & Private Eye. As for the others - I could never buy anything tainted by Rupert Murdoch. The Mail fills me with deep despair whenever I look at it - it is so negative about everything. The Express is just bonkers, like a comic for slow-witted 50 year-old cardigan wearers who still think we have an Empire. At least the Star has t1ts in it. And the Indy just passes me by. Sadly newsprint's days are numbered. Mostly I get the news from the BBC website, because I trust it.
  16. Now, where have we heard this sort of talk before? And did it end well? (Not in the long term, obviously.) http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/boss_wants_youth_to_drive_pompey_vision_1_3274700
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15870214.stm I think the two loan signings the Skates made tell us how bad it is. Two unknowns, one just 18, from his old mucker and mentor to show willing doesn't suggest Appemort was given the run of the Prem for his first foray into the transfer market.
  18. I am amazed this is allowed - it is legitimised loan-sharking
  19. It will come. After your little loss of faith the other day on the Pompey Takeover Thread, I hope you are now back and believing.
  20. I presume this is real. If so, note that Antonov owns 75% of CSI. Without him there is no CSI. His fortune is what has funded it and the Skates. Like Miss Portsea Island, it's not looking pretty.
  21. You really don't know how much fun us nutjobs have had over the last couple of years. And it may be a parallell universe, but every day there is some fun to be had and something to read when the main board is quiet.
  22. How have you missed the 900 or so pages of fish-based fun and frivolity on the legendary 'Pompey takeover thread' in the Lounge site?
  23. Of course he could have siphoned off £300m solely to fund Poopey's return to the Prem, safe in the knowledge that, whatever he may have done to the people of Latvia and Lithuania's life savings, the FL and their FAPPT will wave him through on the nod.
  24. I remember the first time graham Poll came to my notice, against Wimbledon. First he gave a pen to them which took about 5 minutes to sort out as nobody on either side knew what he'd given or why. (Their man fell over the ball with no Saints player near him.) Then he proceeded to send off the wrong Wimbledon player (Thorn, I think) for a nothing foul. Walton's decision was poor, but Fonte was clearly fouled and it was right on the ege of the box. There have been many worse and it's nice that just occasionally we are on the right side of it for once.
  25. Every time I type in Petrobas the only thing that comes up is Petrobras (Petroleo Brasileiro) - and if Poopey have them onside they haven't a care in the world.
