You know exactly what you put, and quite frankly I find it disgusting.

Yes, of course. Otherwise you'd only have 7 teams in the quarter-finals. -

0-0 draw there leaves the 3-team group wide open, and makes Ivory Coast v Ghana on Friday a massive game. -

A smattering of people have turned up to watch this one, in a group now using the same format as the Auto Windscreen Shield did. Excellent. -

Historic. Malawi's first ever Cup of Nations win. Well done to all who watched. -

Another brilliant goalkeeping error. -

Algeria have barely done anything. The skate Belhadj looks OK, but other than that they have been laboured and slow. Hoping for a classic Cup of Nations second half. -

Massive crowd in for Malawi v Algeria. -
But the article DOES say that the proposal is to help education, and is nothing to do with work. So why should they only be allowed to look at job sites, when that is nothing to do with the proposal?
-
You clearly haven't even read the original article. In my book that makes you workshy and lazy. Off to the job centre with you, scum.
-
Not everyone who is poor is unemployed. Why should they be forced to the Job Centre to look for work?
-
All poor people must be chavs and must be scrounging off the state. What a total load of old b*ll*cks. Also: 1) Who is the government to say what people are allowed to spend their money on? If someone wants Sky tv and only eats potatoes and baked beans surely it is their personal choice. Also, some people will have dishes with no subscription, because it was the best was to get digital tv (in case you haven't noticed, analogue is on the way out). 2) We are one of the least taxed countries in Europe, so I'd stop whinging about being overtaxed if I were you.
-
Excellent proposal, although it shouldn't be intended just to monitor kids at school. So many government services are available on-line these days, as well as adult education and other education resources. The gap between the "haves" who can afford the internet and the "have-nots" is widening, and schemes like this are very much needed. The government can't force people to use them 'properly', but there will be plenty of people who would be delighted by this move and make the most out of it.

Wildcard weekend thoughts: Jets @ Bengals: Think we all laughed when Rex Ryan said the Jets (J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS JETS!) would be Superbowl favourites. But he is right to one extent, they play defence and run the football, the trademark of all play-off teams. However much the regular season differs, the play-offs always come down to those teams who play the best fundamental football. Bengals didn't really get into the game, but I just doubt Sanchez has enough to take them all the way. Eagles @ Cowboys: A repeat of last week, the Eagles were never in the game. The Cowboys have hit form and we the best all round team of the weekend, no doubt. Ravens @ Patriots: Dominating defence from the Ravens, especially in the first half. It is a joy to watch a defence play that well. Ray Rice and Willis McGahee are a dangerous tandem in the backfield. Flacco has a year's experience under his belt, and you can only see the D getting better. Packers @ Cards: Wow. Two teams with plenty of offense but no D, and I can't see either challenging for the title on that evidence. An entertaining game, though, capped off by the first defensive play for 3 quarters in OT. Roll on Divisional Play-off Weekend. Who Dat?!

Cup of Nations is the best international tournament to watch by some distance. It will be better than the World Cup.
