I don't think many of you actually understand the role of the central midfield players. They are there to win the ball and distribute it. Their role does not include charging into the opposition's box and scoring shedloads of goals, they are the dustbin men of football, you need them but it's no good counting on them to cook up cordon bleu meals. That's down to Lallana and whoever the other attacking midfielder is.The rub lies in the fact that we have no effective second striker to score on a regular basis and that Antonio who is often used in League games hasn't ,as yet, scored a league goal. Lambert gets his share (a few from free kicks and penalties) Lallana has 10 on his counter but we don't have that second free scoring striker we need. Connolly was the man but as he hasn't played for weeks now he's just got 4 league goals.We need Puncheon to get goals, we need Antonio or Waigo to get goals because Lambert is doubled teamed all of the time.

Yes but if FIFA allow them to sell players outside the window Gold could pay them 15 million for Belhadj and not even play him,just wait until the summer and sell him on to Barcelona. What youngsters ?? Those that are good enough are playing in the team every week, Morgan,Lallana,Antonio and James, younger than those there can't be many candidates.

I had a look at Millwall's remaining fixtures, without any real trouble can see them getting another 30 points from their remaining games, that would leave us requiring another 48, ie 16 wins out of 18.

But he really can't be all that good, otherwise he'd be a regular at Brentford who aren't all that good either. Dailly probably made him look a lot better than he actually is.

we said that about a lot of our players when we got relegated to the Championship, think we said it about Saga in League 1 as well.

Our current form is about as good as anyone's, our problem is the first 8 matches of the season, we took about 7 points from them.If we'd had the same sort of ratio as recent matches we'd have got 16 or so and that's the difference between our real points total and those of Norwich and Leeds. Edit : in fact we got 9 from 10, so that means that from our last 18 matches we've got 35 points, form as good as anyone's really.

although the real target may well be 10 points from automatic promotion.

Doubt it, I had a look at Ryanair from Grenoble the other day. Providing I can get leave this time I could do the round trip for about £40 but the Mrs will insist on going(but not to the match) and stay at the Lancaster Gate (because we always do) so I won't get any change at all from £300 and that"s without Le Café des Amis du Vin because we always have to do that as well.
