Has anyone at the club ever, even faintly or tangentially, confirmed that we are in fact interested in Neil Danns? Just asking because to me he seems far far superior to Puncheon,Arfield or even Stock.
-
this is right,we should, we have better players than most teams and yet we can't beat them. We have signed a couple of players who can't make every game (Jaidi,Murty,Connolly) if they could perform regularly then I doubt if their previous clubs would have cast them out on their collective ear. When they play they've done well for us, but Murty has played something like 5 league games out of 26, Connolly has missed the last 5 or 6 and seems to have been replaced by Barnard. Jaidi, we'll see tomorrow but it wouldn't surprise me if our starting back pair is now Seabourne and Fonté. We are wasting the apparently immense talent of Lallana and potential talent of Morgan by aimlessly punting the ball over their heads to a striker who hasn't scored from open play for a few games now, perhaps all the opposition managers have got him sussed eh.I'm not saying that it's a great problem because I haven't believed in the play-offs since we took 4 points from our first 6 games but to me we are signing players we don't need and not signing players we do need.

I give up, have it your own way, we are a fabulous side full of top class talent who just can't beat Brentford or Millwall.
-
no not really but I'd have thought we were targeting players who are actually playing above our current standard.Fonté is the only one who fits that billing. Obviously Danns would as well or Stock but as yet we haven't finalised either of those signings. We need to give Barnard time to settle in obviously but if it was a choice between he and McSheffrey I know who I'd take, because we're supposed to be looking for players who can move on up with us.
-
Still instead of Barnard perhaps? who is no doubt a great little player but he missed an open goal..well a 1 on 1 anyway... on tuesday.I really do question the quality of some of our acquisitions and targeted players ,still will time will tell.
-
And why weren't we in there trying to get him? Is it a case of the great North/South divide, still Birmingham isn't too far north is it.
-
Yes Leeds could beat most sides in the Scots Prem, idem Charlton and even Colchester. Scots football is just a joke.

How many players should we off load now or in the summer?

And scored for them in midweek. We could have used him but I suspect that our league position disserved us yet again. -
So a player "on the verge of a Scotland call up" can be bought for 400K£? You won't get into the England squad with a market value of under 20 million (unless you're a goalkeeper, for that you just need a pair of boots)
-
I'd be really pleased, he's a geriatric who'll gift us a shedload of goals.

Omniscient, like many on this very forum.

Unless of course the deck is too sh*tty to play on and AP had told them to go route 1 anyway.Don't forget Morgan wasn't in the starting line up, the poor pitch might have affected that, unless he'd been on leave for a few days because he was supposed to be suspended.

back to the original plan than, I'm sure he's a much better player as well. -
they seem to, O'Hara was only on loan at Skate yet he couldn't move on and at that time Pompey were on a transfer embargo and couldn't renew his loan.
-
Not if we sign Puncheon ,he has a packet, something like 7 yellows and a straight red, must be aggressive, although Dons fan(s) say he is bit of a sulker if he doesn't get his way.

But where doe he do it?, he shouldn't be back in our box, that's too far back, the midfield need to be defending no lower than half way into our half. Being there doesn't count, needs to be tacking hard and winning ball. -

He's not utter crap but he needs to be the 1 forward player in a 4 man midfield, he's raw and as far as I can see has no defensive qualities. -
we'll i'll wait until it's on the OS. They mention Huddersfield, they've signed 2 players on loan already today. Obviously loading up for their play-off push.

OK stand corrected, but we did start with 3 real midfielders and Lallana instead of the wishy washy 2 midfielders plus Antonio and Lallana set up that we used on Tuesday. As I said on tuesday it might well work in the CCC but in this league you need steel and oomph especially on cabbage patches like Brentford's. Starting with Wootton,James,Lallana and Antonio was suicidal. If he must do that at least have the sense to use Papa instead of Antonio, or are we now totally obsessed with the long throw? -
Not being an adept of FM I really couldn't say, but Falkirk are by proven fact a very, very bad side.
-
but we probably can't get them, that's the problem. If we were anywhere near the play-offs we might get a few good championship players with our money, but they just don't fancy getting three bales of crap kicked out of them every Saturday and Tuesday until June 2011.
-
But as we're in League 1 and will be for at least another 17 months it's no use even talking about players like (the old model) Beattie. We got Fonte to drop down probably with shedloads of money but also because he wasn't getting any at Crystal Palace.I'm sure he could have got a higher level club if he'd waited but he chose immediate security and a long term sporting project.Other than that we've just signed players from our own level.
-
are you sh*tting me? Beattie and Lambert aren't even comparable. Beattie was (is) a Premiership striker who scored a sackful of goals at that level. Lambert has never risen above League 1

Although I thought one of our better performances (Walsall away) was achieved without Lallana(came on near the end).We lined up James,Hammond,Schneiderlin,Antonio that day (or so I seem to remember) with Lambert and Connolly and we totally dominated them. You have to ask yourself do we really need Lallana now. -
But Falkirk are very bad,
