  1. I think it's just someone anticipating a bad result tomorrow, if we lose the SP might take a giant hit come Monday morning.
  2. Oh right, no money needed then, count me in for that consortium;
  3. I thought Gray was more serious actually. A whole pre-season to look around, saw some good men apparently (Moyes,Harryetc etc) and then dealt them away for a boot boy who couldn't handle the job so we let him 'choose' another complete no hoper to help him out. Total cost?? somewhere in the region of 2.2 million (far more than Moyes "own men" would have cost). Plus we f**ked up on Delgado and his mate, some would say on Delap as well under that regime. Even if Gray didn't sign Delgado and Chala in the right hands thy may have been worth something and not 5 + million just tipped down an Ecudorian drain. To me "the right man for the job" cost Saints nigh on 10 million quid give or take a tenner, it was just chronic incompetence that led to all the problems that followed. After Gray we got who? Hoddle, was he available in the summer of Gray?
  4. Steve was fast, very fast, sprung a lot of offside traps. Also put it about if necessary. Fast, great composure, great midfield behind him, everything you needed really.
  5. But BWP is really very lightweight. I think he weighs about 55 kgs or something like that. Steve Moran wasn't that big but he was far more solid than BWP. Even Pahars weighed in at 67/68 kgs. Makes a huge amount of difference.
  6. Skate could offload another 30 million in players, we're scratching around for 30 bob.
  7. I understand that perfectly, but you sure can have a lot more composure when you're 6ft 2 and solid as a brick sh*it house (without being overweight) and you don't get knocked off the ball like a speck of dust. In passing happy birthday to Torres, 25 today, but I guess he doesn't look in here all that often.
  8. Torres has scored more goals than BWP has played games; At 24 BWP has played a total of 140 games for 23 goals, Torres has played nigh on 400 games and has scored 160 goals all competitions included. Torres is an aggressive lad well over 6 ft tall and takes the rough with the smooth, plus he can dish it out and his physical strength is part of his make up.Whilst I understand that Wotte is not in any way comparing BWP to Torres he lacks many of Torres attributes which make him what he is. If BWP had them he might score many more goals.
  9. I think that they're figuring more along the lines that the administrators would sell him for anything that was offered. If we go down we'll be going into admin, clear as day.
  10. Why?are you no longer convinced that we'll be down long before that match??
  11. Still we should get 3000 minimum (being approx 10% of 30600)
  12. What's that then? scoring goals, yep Torres does that, not so sure about BWP though. Torres does goals like BWP does handbags in Portsmouth clubs.
  13. I don't think he has much money actually. In fact not very much at all. The only ex Saint who has money (other than Keegan) would be Mick Channon.
  14. Well not if you count Gray,Wadsworth,Wigley,Delgado and putting Dave Jones on garden leave he wasn't.On selling players agreed, he was doing a reasonable job.
  15. Well the FA said their fax ran out of paper or something similar. Bet if it had been us signing a player after the deadline it wouldn't have washed.
  16. Yes but isn't there some sort of permanent deal in prospective at the end of the season with Wolves? I mean at Wolves he may get Prem football again although it seems to be beyond his capabilities. League 1 with Forest is probably less of a draw.
  17. Portsmouth probably, they put it on the rhubarb, in Southampton we have custard on ours.
  18. 15 million I think, but they're selling Tevez to Utd for 32 million so that's a big + in the profit column. PLus continued Premiership football for what? at least another 3 years.
  19. I don't think they actually did, not for 500K. The press might have talked about it but I'm not sure it actually happened. We'd have taken 500K to be sure,as we didn't it probably didn't get offered.
  20. I went to that game, drank in the same pub as Forest at midday, 2 bars ,one for each set of fans. absolutely no trouble whatsoever.
  21. Crystal Palace didn't think so and Swansea are as yet undecided.
  22. Doubt it, we were in bid situation at the time (well I think so anyway) and I don't think directors can do that sort of thing when that's the case. On an aside note, yesterday there was a wee bit of LSE action at 15.70/share; today transactions have gone down at 13p, I am genuinely worried that whatever we do on the pitch administration will negate it.
  23. Doubt it actually.I think we are really really broke, Mother Hubbard Syndrome if you like.
  24. Not me OSM, I'm on late shift 1200 miles away on Wednesday. Watching over you all as usual..
