  1. For WGS I couldn't say. For Harry telling him to get results from a team without wheeling and dealing and counting the +/- column afterwards is like giving a fish a bicycle. Redknapp knows what he's doing, his results elsewhere prove it, but you've got to give him a free hand , you have to let him wheel and deal freely, that's why he didn't take the job first time round, he saw it wouldn't work out as he likes it to.
  2. It was the Derby game that cost £5 for extra tickets for ST holders. QPR was full price.I bought a ticket for Charlton the other day , it was £15. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11438
  3. Not sure that Stanley understands Quantum Mechanics, ask him about potted plants and he's your man though.
  4. Probably because neither can attract enough fans on a regular basis (for whatever reason) to support their ambitions. The south coast is no longer football territory, it's garden centre and golf land nowadays. Saints got good crowds in the Prem, but not capacity crowds every week. To pay players who demand 50K/week you need 5000 fans every week just to pay that single player. You need tyo sell 100,000 shirts with his name on them and 3 million saints bog roll holders every week. We don't do that,it's straightforward enough. Match day receipts no longer pay for football teams, look at our accounts for last season and the season before. If we hadn't sold player every season since dinosaurs walked the earth we'd have gone under years ago. Look at mike Ashley, pumped in hundreds of millions and then the fans turned him when he refused Keegan another 200 million to throw down the same drain.Big incentive to invest mega bucks in football because there is no guaranteed return.
  5. Their players will be spending most of their time form now onwards scratching around trying to find a club for next season.Charlton will probably go into administration very soon.Did they still have a parachute payment this season? Must be lamentable management down in SE4 (or is it SE10)
  6. So if we beat Charlton his record will be better than the much revered Pearson?? from a game less,2 if you're not generous and count Pymouth. Last season so many thought we were sure to go down, we didn't and now we have a coach with a record as good as last season's saviour with probably a less talented side. We need to beat Charlton, the fans need to get behind the team to make sure that happens, I've booked my flight and bought my ticket. To me that game is a gimme but who knows with us.I thought we'd avoid relegation last season, we did, I think we have an excellent chance of avoiding it this season as well, we shall see.
  7. I don't really see what all this super confidence in Plymouth is. They've got 1 point from their last 4 games, before that they had a blip when they got 7 from 3 (even we got 9 from 3 on a rare blip). They're losing at home nigh on every week and are absolute crap just now.Sturrock has targeted 3 wins from 7 games (before they lost at home again yesterday) so that's 3 from 6 now. Maybe we'll go down but I'd take Plymouth to go down with us over say Forest who we can send down by winning on the last day. Tall order but it becomes a 1 off cup-tie like game under those circumstances.Anything can happen, just why so many are writing us off completely when our recent record is as good if not better than most of the other relegation candidates I just couldn't say.
  8. I looked at Sky Bet, can't see why you get better (or is it worse ) odds on Plymouth and Forest than on Norwich.Still I don't understand odds, just probability.
  9. He'll be sold this summer for a very fair price. We don't appreciate him, others are less discerning. He is probably our second most saleable asset just now.
  10. But if Forest get a point from drawing with us don't we get a point for drawing with them?
  11. Being Ugly and playing for Blackpool?
  12. Too true. I just can't see where Plymouth are going to get another 8 points from. Forest are erratic but come final day we'll probably be in with an equal chance of survival on a winner takes all basis, but we need to be in a position where the draw favours us and not them.
  13. How do Blackpool survive on crowds of just under 8K??
  14. Not as good a reaction as I would have thought really. True our result was mediocre but two others were better than could be hoped for. Wotte's record is now; P10 W3 D4 L3, 13 points, same as Pearson's from 12 before the Sheff U home game (if you don't count Plymouth of course). I would have thought that at least someone (other than me) would have said well done to the lads for fighting back and getting a point at Blackpool given the circumstances of the others losing.
  15. And a dodgy penalty or so it would seem..
  16. As it stands winning our game in hand 3-O would save us, all other things being equal. How good it that?
  17. Of course but making up points on Forest and plymouth is good.
  18. Must have found a ref who doesn't believe they have a divine right to win by any means then.
  19. a dead tree might I add.Well ,not very well at best.
  20. Getting better every minute. Just need Birmingham to notch another and our prospective draw is a good result.
  21. I have trees and bushes which aren't yet trees.
  22. Nah looked more like a finch, cos I know about tits.
  23. A nice little bird came and perched on one of my hazelnut bushs. Don't know what kind though, I'm not into the feathered kind.
