  1. Does Sigourney Weaver play for us then?
  2. Why ugly scenes, we're in admin ,Rupert and Mike have gone,the team lost 3-2 at home, we'll be in league 1 ,so many seem to have got all they wanted, why be "ugly" about it.
  3. can he get beheaded for sniffing glue?
  4. No, I was of the most optimistic actually. I thought we'd stay up and not go into admin. I am very ****ed off today cos I was going over and all but not under today's circumstances, not at 485£ on top of the ticket I'd already bought.I don't believe all the PLC/FC Ltd wheeling and dealing will wash.
  5. merely replying to an enquiry.
  6. Crap player, pity Morgan had the flu last week (very bad strain in france this year, they've all been off sick at work lately).Still may be fit enough to come on for the last 35 minutes or so.
  7. Strange, knows he probably won't be here next season though. He's only on loan, doesn't seem to be that sort of bloke though.
  8. Not if we stay up it doesn't;We get docked 10 and go down in that scenario. So they win today, and finished 4th from bottom but we may (will) get docked 10 and go down. At least we'd start on 0 next season though.
  9. good ,jacking up his transfer value a bit;
  10. What do you expect, he's playing for free just like any bloke on Sholing rec of a Sunday afty.
  11. In fact it makes no difference whatsoever. We will go down because we'll get docked 10 points. The players probably know that anyway and know that whatever they may do or say they'll be either up the road or on p*ss poor pay in Lge 1 next season anyway.This is why I didn't bother to go over, bought my ticket but limited the expense to that cos it's a game for nothing.
  12. But they've always had a pretty hard line policy haven't they? Some very astute people saw all this coming a couple of years ago,Barclay's probably employ most of them. Their exposure was less and although their profits are seriously down they have come out on the + side of the ledger with relatively little toxic debt and decent cash reserves. There are banks across the world who have very little exposure to sub prime related losses. Ordinary banks who have independent investment arms I suppose.My bank was completely untouched, got a letter from the PDG which said so with this month's statement.Whether they stay untouched for much longer is yet to be seen.
  13. I think some poster even backed it.
  14. The points deduction is easy to understand. You have gained an advantage (well not so much in our case) by spending money you don't have and can't pay back. It's the same in all walks of life.You spend more than you have, you get punished eventually. Ordinary people do time or get their possessions seized,football clubs lose points which is supposed to deter others from doing it.
  15. But that's probably why they aren't taking government aid. They're cutting their losses by any means. People who aren't hopelessly adrift have to pay to shore up those who are. Bet if we (Saints) were with the RBS we'd be AOK.
  16. Wow, half a million so far, I really wonder (without casting aspersions) if we would ever see the colour of it though.
  17. Did you know that the title "Brave New world" was lifted by Huxley from a speech by Miranda in the Tempest. It reappears in germinal by Zola "He laughed at his earlier idealism, his schoolboy vision of a brave new world in which justice would reign and men would be brothers." Doesn't that about sum up Mike Wilde.
  18. But even that's wrong isn't it. JF wasn't donated by John Corbett it was bought by SFC with the aid of a loan term loan from John Corbett. The PLC acquired it by taking over SFC .
  19. Against Iceland, land of the ultimate never never. The players are probably all alkys now because they were bank clerks before.
  20. Tomorrow will be a day of profit taking and stashing it away in even more obscure tax havens.The indexes will then plunge again, but perhaps not as much as before. 20 blokes yakking is not a solution. People actually doing something is the way forward.
  21. don't remember that:mad::mad:

  23. The trouble is Wilde's side got to the play-offs-despite having an absolutely useless **** of a manager. Then the next season we were absolutely f*cking terrible despite yet more serious spending. Really on the face of it only Burley and the overpaid,underperformers are to blame.I mean I know you all like to rant on about this chairman and that director but at the end of the day if the players are inconsistent and the manager doesn't give a f*ck how is that the board's fault.you buy players, they do a reasonable job, you fall at the Canal Turn second time round, so you put the same horse with the same jockey next year and it falls at the first sodding fence.No chairman or director can plan for that sort of sh*t.You have to give players of "renown" decent contracts, if they don't deliver you're fugged,twice over even..
  24. Banned apparently
