Points deductions, the FA and the big picture
Window Cleaner replied to WealdSaint's topic in The Saints
The points deduction is easy to understand. You have gained an advantage (well not so much in our case) by spending money you don't have and can't pay back. It's the same in all walks of life. You spend more than you have, you get punished eventually. Ordinary people do time or get their possessions seized, football clubs lose points which is supposed to deter others from doing it. -
Wow, half a million so far, I really wonder (without casting aspersions) if we would ever see the colour of it though.

Did you know that the title "Brave New world" was lifted by Huxley from a speech by Miranda in the Tempest. It reappears in germinal by Zola "He laughed at his earlier idealism, his schoolboy vision of a brave new world in which justice would reign and men would be brothers." Doesn't that about sum up Mike Wilde.

But even that's wrong isn't it. JF wasn't donated by John Corbett it was bought by SFC with the aid of a loan term loan from John Corbett. The PLC acquired it by taking over SFC .

Against Iceland, land of the ultimate never never. The players are probably all alkys now because they were bank clerks before.

Is a ground share with Pompey the best solution?
Window Cleaner replied to Topcat's topic in The Saints
Tomorrow will be a day of profit taking and stashing it away in even more obscure tax havens. The indexes will then plunge again, but perhaps not as much as before. 20 blokes yakking is not a solution. People actually doing something is the way forward. -
don't remember that:mad::mad:

Commonly known as taking one for the team

The trouble is Wilde's side got to the play-offs-despite having an absolutely useless **** of a manager. Then the next season we were absolutely f*cking terrible despite yet more serious spending. Really on the face of it only Burley and the overpaid, underperformers are to blame.I mean I know you all like to rant on about this chairman and that director but at the end of the day if the players are inconsistent and the manager doesn't give a f*ck how is that the board's fault.you buy players, they do a reasonable job, you fall at the Canal Turn second time round, so you put the same horse with the same jockey next year and it falls at the first sodding fence. No chairman or director can plan for that sort of sh*t.You have to give players of "renown" decent contracts, if they don't deliver you're fugged, twice over even..

Banned apparently

Yet another oxymoron to note down: Wealthy saints fans.

Thought so.

Have we established that as a fact??? I think it's not actually the case although there does seem to be some confusion.

Who's going to take on such a loss making concern that's the question. The only way to get someone to even be interested in taking over is to get the megabucks earners off the books once and for all. No loans, they just pick up their ticks and tacks and walk away,no pay off, no nothing. If the only way for that to happen is liquidating the club it must be considered. That applies to anyone who is earning more than the average for the CCC (even Kelvin, thanks though), what is it now about 4K/wk all found. More than that we can't handle. This needs to happen so that the next time we get a decent young player we don't start talking about selling him to "save the club" the instant he has 1 good game. Does their head in.

Did The Debt Increase In The Lowe and Wilde Year Then?
Window Cleaner replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
The net debt is calculated by adding 39.6 million fixed assets to the receivables (trade and other) and subtracting the OD,trade payables and the stadium balance, giving a total 27.5 m debt. I suspect the 30 million is what we owe without taking into account that the fixed assets are 39.6 million. The two figures are probably not comparable. -
Is it time for the city Council to Step In?
Window Cleaner replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
The city can't afford it's staff apparently. They will do nothing, they never have and probably never will. How much were our rates last year? did they give us a rebate? were they going to this year? How odd that would be if we are in admin because we couldn't pay our rates bill. -
Question for those who were pro admin?
Window Cleaner replied to mynameisthehulk's topic in The Saints
He was never particularly offensive, his ideas were sometimes offensive to most but not his method of expressing them. Alpine banned as well? that would be too shoddy, both the administration now wallahs banned on the day it finally happened. -
Anyone who fancies doing it for free. Apply within.

But those are insignificant in the mass of the affair. Assuming that they are "other" revenue in the last AR. 7.9 matchday,3.9 (or whatever) broadcasting wholly linked to football 3.0 other (all in millions of £) plus 9.1 million excedent on player trading. The PLCs annual turnover comes to what? 15 million plus player trading it is virtually all football related. We won't get away with it and anyone who thinks we might is a dumbass. It'll probably be like Lewis Hamilton, veil the truth and get 1 extra point until the facts are known and get none at all.
-
Yes but when was the last time an annual report mentioned the financial activity of any one of them .Apart from saying they'd been sold or purchased or whatever.Look at the annual reports, it's all about matchday revenue, broadcasting revenue and other revenue, the other is minor and never specific. the view must be that the FC and the PLC are seperate entities but are inseperable in terms of loss making .
-
yes they do, if their salaries aren't paid they can just not play, not turn up for training and if they are employed by the FC Ltd (provided it's not in admin) implement procedure for the payment of their salary. Once a regular period for payment of salary passes the club is in breach of contract if they don't pay.

Question for those who were pro admin?
Window Cleaner replied to mynameisthehulk's topic in The Saints
why is he banned ?? -
I have been reflecting again and have mentally remarked that not once in any of the PLC annual reports that I have read is there any significant reference to any form of revenue other than football. None ever mention the activity of our wholly owned but totally independent company the FC. They talk about football, transfers, league position etc. It will need Harry Houdini QC to get us off without 10 points deducted.

Didn't know there was any in the CCC.
