Ex I don't know about the worst overseas player. His bowling might be useful if three-quarters of it didn't go down the leg side. That's obviously not what he's been asked to do. Must be control issue.
-
Can't bat, can't bowl. 4th loss of the season coming up. We were alright when Abbott and Fuller were bowling. Yusuf is a leg side merchant and Currie is just hopeless. Dawson needs dropping..produces nothing.
-
Didn't see Albert's wicket but Prest was guilty of a Vince special, aimless waft outside off.
-
Poor bowling. I haven't watched for a while but I saw a lot of wild stuff from Yusuf and "hit me"balls from Dawson. Dropped catch as well, Lehmann perhaps.
-
Dawson on his current form, I could do without if needs be. I'd give Neal a go.
-
Plays for Scotland a bit. Don't know what format.
-
Doh! Poor start, recovered well and then just sort of collapsed after tea.
-
And now a very silly run out.
-
Going along well now. If only we could get good starts.
-
Not a surprise though. Until we master the openers situation it will keep on happening. The strip was lively this morning and well exploited by Essex. Albert and to some extent Gubbins just do not have the technical ease to survive such an onslaught. Could have both been out even sooner. Prest is not the answer to anything whatsoever at 3.
-
Probably not what's needed at all. I'd think getting a real opener in, no need to bé an overseas player, use any one of the three other "openers". Put Gubbins back at 3, Mayes 5 and if you must Prest at 6. The only thing that probably needs doing with Yusuf is to tell him to bowl to English conditions and not a yard short as is standard in S.A. Probably been told that already, but i'm not sure if we actually have a specific bowling coach.
-
Shambles, but then that's nothing out of the ordinary. Gubbins just doesn't défend well enough to be a serious opener,no matter how he tries there's always some minor technical default. He's ruining what's left of his career accepting this role.
-
Oh dear. Prest beaten all ends up. We perhaps need to review our policy on him batting at 3.
-
Batting looks difficult this morning. A couple of narrow escapes and now Albert is out.
-
The ball that got Gubbins second innings was a freak, came back about 18 inches, no doubt off the seam in the rough, trouve with batting second and third on what looks a roughed up wicket.
-
Can we hold out until the rain comes ?
-
Don't think you can pick out Yusuf this time, roughly the same figures as Abbott and Baker. Our bowlers didn't put any pressure on Glamorgan because they were inconsistant, far too many stray balls easy to hit. Carberry kept on making this point. Does he coach Carberry?
-
Probably but money comes from the T20, the Hundred and Internationals. Looking at the empty stands, can't see that we make anything from red ball. Apparently we have a project to rebuild, can't see how. Abbott and Dawson are done, Brown also. True we have Mayes but he'll be on central contract soon as you know it and the rest is D2 standard.
-
Thèse are just dobby seamers, but they're accurate and don't spray the ball about as did ours bowlers on friday. A real spinner is of course a bonus.
-
Couldn't say, the players are what they are and I know nothing about the coach. However we probably need to stop playing at the Utilita where the pitches don't suit us, no fans either.
-
Not today Tom Prest. Humiliated by Crâne.
-
Oh dear. Heading for an innings defeat more thn likely.
-
A dismal day for Hants.
-
Makes a change though. À bowling shambles instead of a batting shambles.
-
Injured. Apparently has been for a while but today, although named in the side, couldn't play.
