To be honest Altidore had failed as a striker virtually everywhere he'd played except at Alkmaar, think if you tot up his games elsewhere (except for MLS which is worth absolute firk all) you get a bit over 100 games for a handful of goals, say 8 or 9. At Alkmaar 55 from about 110/115. Can't see why Sunderland signed him as he'd already proved at Hull that he was shîte. As for Pelle well we'll going to find out very soon aren't we.

Fraser Forster Joins on 4 Year Deal - Official
Window Cleaner replied to Wrensup's topic in The Saints
Indeed it will, but the first couple of games will give us an idea of where we are. Liverpool away and West Brom at home, got 6 points from those games last season I think. 4 would be good this time round. -
Dortmund would be without their world cup winners though wouldn't they, if they even have any, suppose they do. That's why it's a bit difficult to judge top German sides just now, all without key players, Bender was missing for Bayer wasn't he?

As in all these situations Sunday will be the acid test. Forster will play then, we'll see how he gets on, know nothing about him myself. -

Why say it, well how long do you think they could hide it really, might as well get it over and done with. -

England goalkeeping coach, England 3rd choice keeper, plain as day that he'd be number 1 the instant he eventually arrived. Wait and see KD will be our Number 2 again before the month is out. There was an article about it not long back, transfer thread post 3501 IIRC. -

Pretty obvious really -
It's not about spending 14 or 15 million £, it's about getting Vidal at a lesser price.
-
Without doubting your colleagues judgement many do just not realise how good you need to be to play in the PL. The only real test is playing in it. With the deart of good CBs just one capable of performing correctly week in week out in the PL for 5 million £ will be a real find.
-
Who actually knows that..honestly. Never seen him play myself.
-
Could be, can't see exactly why we'd need any more CMs just now though.
-
In fact the only thing to do now is wait and see how we get on on Sunday and then recalibrate our last 2 weeks of the window targets. Don't think panic buying "maybe" Roumanian CBs is the way to go, then again for 5 million £ what difference can it make, if he's better than Jos it's a step forward.
-
So now all players are to be paid out of transfer receipts ? That's a bit strange isn't it? I mean the PL central fund actually give us a lot of money for that don't they. If we'd have kept the err 7 players that are no longer here we'd have had to pay them, as we did last season with a salary mass of 52 million £ or so. No-one is going to make me believe that we're paying Pelle as much as we did Lambert or Taider as much as we did Osvaldo.
-
Still Doyen will get 50% of the 32 milion paid for Mangala, that should keep the wolf from the door for a couple of weeks so perhaps they don't need the money from a Rojo sale...yet.
-
Better for less would be fairly difficult to find I think, 4 million £ isn't a lot of money PL wise. Work permlit regulations being as they are of course. If the Uk had no work permit criteria for non EU players then I'm sure we could find better and for less. Just don't let the bloke who scouted Mayuka have anything to do with it .
-
Especially as Arsenal are still without their Germans aren't they? And Citeh were without their Argentines. Bit of a second class match perhaps.
-
Although I fully expect Forster to be our number 1 keeper.
-
Not yet I think, not that striker that some wag linked us to at the start of the week either, nor Bender. Second half perhaps
-
good, we really shouldn't be dealing with people like Doyen.
-
At a guess I'd say we need home grown players just now, haven't calculated where we are on that 8 out of 25 rule but we can't be great on it, especially when Morgan and JRod eventually leave. You don't need 8 but each one that you don't have reduces your possible senior squad by one. Right now we have Davis,Davis,Clyne,Bertrand,Cork,Morgan,JRod and any of Isgrove or Stephens who's over 21 , Isgrove and Stephens aren't certain to make the 25 so that could leave us light.
-
I can indeed but I'm not at all sure that continuing with this one will get me very far. I believe the club in it's present configuration is heading for a major fall and I don't want to see class players like Morgan dragged down by it . Whatever happens to him his French career will be damaged unless he gets a move to a club playing in Europe this season. He knows it, I know it, most of you don't care anyway. Last January I stood up and said that if KL didn't want to continue to invest in the development of the club or couldn't then she should do the right thing and sell it to someone who does and can. Nothing I've seen in these last 2 months has made me change my opinion there. You see I'm not a mediocre person, can't stand mediocrity. We'll just wait and see what the next few weeks bring.

Don't we all, nothing but crap since the day he arrived. needs to get on his bike (or his skates) and get out there doing what he said he was here to do.
