Must be one of the players who aren't 100% just as RK said. Good game last Saturday for someone who isn't 100% really.Maybe he's got a new agreement that he doesn't have to participate in sh*t games this season. West Ham and then 2 internationals next week will be enough.

1 week to go, will Kruger, Koeman n Ko stick to their word?

In fact most fixed term contracts can only be broken by mutual agreement, you can quit but in that case your employer can seek compensation. Getting out of a fixed term contract is never a one way street unless it's for misconduct on your part or some defaillance on theirs. -
That's what agents a for, they establish if we had some ham we could have ham and eggs if we had some eggs type discussions. Nothing binding, informal and hypothetical discussions. It has been said by the French press that Morgan has his personal terms with Spurs all hammered out, although he's probably never spoken to them himself on the subject.

In fact I've just read the Guardian article, it says absolutely nothing, except that Townsend could be stuck in limbo if Saints don't change their mind. Seems to be more about Townsend than anything else. Stand down.
-
Absolutely, not getting more out of him is really regrettable, he's obviously fragile and probably needs to move to a less intense league for his own sake. We'll not get much more out of him really so we could save money and he could relance his career. You see these type of players all of the time in football, great talent but they just don't have the physique to go with it, Grenier and Gorcuff spring to mind, Ledley King as well.

Examined by the team doctor or not it's just one injury after another with him, he's been here over 2 years and has participated in 48 games (mostly as a sub).

If of course the fees obtained eventually benefit the club. For the time being the most part of them has been spent on players who are of a lower standard than those sold. Forster perhaps being the exception so far. As for the rest time will tell. -
Although he said we weren't going to rest many players, just those who weren't 100%. We'll see what he does but if he rests Forster that would be because he's either not 100% or he is in fact a hypocrite, same as most football managers when exposing their plans for tackling lower league opposition.

I thought it was stated recently that no transaction for Townsend would involve MS going the other way. Why the Guardian have suddenly decided to discount that and run their latest story I just couldn't say. Townsend and MS have always been linked as far as Spurs are concerned no doubt. If we don't give way neither will they, we've said we definitely won't so can't see why anyone would think we actually will. The loss of face would be too great for too many people. If it should actually happen then it must be because of some other reason.

Obtained how this time ? Thought it was a slight knock, is that not what Koeman said the week before last, most players manage to carry on with "slight knocks". Obviously not Gaston though. He just seems to get "slight knock" after slight knock, each one keeps him out of the side for 3 or 4 games. Good player, bags of promise but he really is a sick note.

Indeed we had a bloke on this forum purporting to leak stuff directly from the club saying that 35 million £ was available for this summer's window before any player sales. Most then regarded him as the oracle of ITKing. Take it up with him. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50568-Latest-information/page6#.U_yX3Pl_vWk -
But he's been dropped, perhaps because his fitness isn't as required but plenty of the 29 selected aren't any fitter and haven't even started playing again. I think basically Tavares has had enough of Gaston's fitness problems. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise, trekking off to Japan and South Korea certainly wouldn't have done him much good.

I don't quite get your point here, what I'm trying to say is that we didn't need the money but we obviously did. We were supposed to have a war chest which didn't obviously exist. If we had not sold the crown jewels I doubt that we would have bought anyone, exactly as we did not last January. I'm saying that we were led on, perhaps the ITK in question really knew nothing at all. -

Well yes, it was "promised" before any sales were reality. It was supposed to be available for team strengthening this summer and did not depend on sales. WE could have strengthened the side with just that money but it didn't happen. All we've spent is the eventual result of the transfers of Lallana and Shaw, preseume the rest is a kitty for the future but I think we can wave goodbye to the famous 35 million £ "warchest". It never existed, it never will. -

But we did need money for transfers, for a CB,for a keeper, for a striker to replace JRod in at least the short term. In fact we probably needed to spend the 35 million £ transfer kitty that Guan informed us was in place. Right now instead of a net transfer spend of that 35 million we have a net transfer excedent of at least that. So the 35 million £ + sales was always bullsh*t, notice it's purveyor has disappeared. -
No need, a quick fix of CM2014 should get the job done.

But then where would the money for the incoming transfers have come from ? From various speeches about core players and the like ou just have to assume that keeping those who have left wasn't top of the agenda. We can only judge the result of that decision from this year's games. For the moment the result is not probing but it's early days as of yet. Back in May Reed and Krueger said we didn't need to sell, the fact that we then did tends to suggest that we actually wanted to do that. I feel sure that Morgan has only fallen into line because of his desire to play for France, if he was a regular international with 15 or so caps to his name already we might have seen a different face of him. He wants to be picked against Spain and Albania next week, DD doesn't select players who don't play for their clubs. -

Well absolutely, stronger to me means obtaining more points than last season, it's the only real yardstick in football. You cannot possibily be stronger if you lose more matches. You can only be judged in relation to your competition. As of now, for me anyway, we're way way off of last season's quality, that's why we're 5 points down from the 2 same matches as last season. Still there's plenty of room for improvement against sides like Sunderland and West Ham. If we fail to beat West Ham on Saturday then questions will be asked. If we don't get say 12 points from say the first 10 games then Koeman may well not make a long career at SFC. -
Perhaps the train is cheaper...difficult financial situation and all that.
-
Looks like he's been dropped anyway, not in the 29 man preselection apparently.
-
Anyway Uruguay play Japan next week, interesting to see if Gaston is selected again, if he is you have to assume he's sort of basically fit and that we're not playing him because of some negligible niggle or that Koeman doesn't fancy him.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached

Ghibli's aren't all that expensive as Maseratis go, think you can get a bottom of the range model for about 50000£, well you can for 65000 € anyway.

Window Cleaner replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Either I think, Barca are desperately keen to be shot of him, probably available for a bag of smarties and a new lawn mower. He's no better than Capoué or Dembelé anyway, neither is Rabiot ..yet. Anyway that's another case of the FFF sticking their oar in, he's not playing at PSG so they want him to move somewhere where he'll get a game, won't at Tottenham though. -
Don't get me wrong, I'd love for Gaston to become what he should in theory be but he's so fragile that I don't think he ever will under the intensity of PL football, won't be the first, won't be the last. As for the WC well it doesn't really seem to have harmed many players, Morgan looks fit although his mindset might not be the best just now, some Dutch lads look OK and Aguero scored with his first touch last night. Gaston is just too fragile that's all, needs to go back to Italy and make a decent career from his great talent, if he stays here he'll regret it for ever, be rich though, won't get that sort of money in Italy.
