because no evidence of ML ever actually having 3+ billion (whatevers) actually exists. He was a rich man certainly but I'm sure that there is great confusion about tha actual attribution of wealth in the entire Liebherr family. No-one knows exactly who has what because no information exists in the public domain. All you can get is hearsay and wild speculation. However the way the group has been run down to virtually nothing in these last years and the fact that up until a few months back Cortese seems to have been in virtual charge of everything still tells me much.
-
"Personally I have never believed" now what exactly does that say ? All I really know is that the Mali Group empire has been systematically broken up over these last 3 and a half years or so and all that now remains is a sort of brokerage affair registered in Zurich. recently there have been directoral changes (mid October) Cortese out, KL and a bloke called Nicolaus Issenmann in . All this is in the public domain, anyone can look it up. Perhaps some of the fiswizzs can tell you more, I certainly can't.
-
I have absolutely no idea, you'd have to look up all the Mali International Group AG holdings one by one and then try to find out details of the liquidation. Personally I have never believed that the late Markus had anywhere near the amounts of funds attributed to him so (often said so on this very forum as well) so nothing would really surprise me. If someone told me we are skint tomorrow then it just wouldn't come as any sort of great shock at all.
-
but they had no plans to sell him so nothing has been contradicted. Needs real game time anyway and with the Cropper/Gazza bottleneck in the U21s it's good for him.
-
Exactly what I said; "No player that the manager wishes to retain will be sold or loaned out in this transfer window". That's a statement of intent.
-
we have no proof of her personal wealth, none whatsoever. The Mali group has been reduced to virtually nothing, all sold and liquidated. Cortese ran it all of late anyway.
-
No-one would want to actually buy any of those anyway, best we can hope for there is some very long loan periods, say 2 years or so. Anyway players not being loaned out isn't covered anywhere in the statement.
-
Well for journalists who can presumably grasp the English language quite well you'd have to wonder how they've converted "no plans to sell players" into pledging not to sell players. They are not one and the same thing. No plans just means no active schemes to sell players it doesn't mean they won't. Then again as we're dealing with a Swiss national perhaps they don't realise that. What she needs to say is No player that the manager seeks to retain will be sold in this transfer window, now that's a statement of intent not a wishy washy no plans etc.

FA Cup 4th round draw - Sunday 2pm - HOME v YEOVIL TOWN
Window Cleaner replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
No, they'll be granted extra tickets I expect. They've had a bit over 3000 but I believe they're officially entitled to 15% unless we find some excuse to refuse them on safety grounds. -
FA Cup 4th round draw - Sunday 2pm - HOME v YEOVIL TOWN

I think we can safely assume that everyone who wants to buy a ticket for this game be they Yeovil supporters or Saints supporters will find the offer meets the demand. No-one will be turned away. -
So then who decides, Mauricio was clear about it yesterday, only with his consent and he won't be giving that for anyone he wants to keep. All that the Chairperson's statement says to me is "don't come round waving beer-mats and bottle tops looking for bargains"
-
but if you had the right offer !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Well you could if you want to argue semantics, "The club has no plans to sell any players during the January window" doesn't actually say no player will be sold if the right offer came along. It's only Mauricio who says that no player he wants to stay will leave.

like any University social life should be, if you can remember it well you probably weren't there. (sorry about the misquote Paul)
-
so what does a non-executive chairman actually decide then, compared to an executive chairman? Forgive my ignorance if you please you city lads and lasses.
-
He didn't even sell his stake AFAIK he gave it away to his brothers, sisters, cousins and what have you. He went out on his own with Mali and it's 5 constituent parts. AFAIK everything has been liquidated apart from a sort of consultancy affair that has had it's HG moved from the Friburg canton (where the family resides) to Zurich.Up until not long back Cortese still ran everything with 1 other director, bloke called Werner or Hehli .
-
Which is all well and good unless you actually believe that all the current owner wants to do is sell the club to the highest bidder. There's nothing to be gained by spending money now in that case.
-
what other family members ? there are just the 2 girls as far as I know and one seems to be a horsey type with no interest in business whatsoever. I think the fact that Cortese was still running everythng for over 3 years after Markus's death tells another story. You need to comprehend that the rest of the Liebherr family have nothing to do with this branch...nothing whatsoever.

Yes but some argued it was to gain some tax advantage or other. Personally I have no idea, I'm just quoting a figure that I saw in one of the many threads started yesterday.
