  1. don't know, our defence was so poor on Saturday that you just can't judge any opponent on that game. West Brom's 3 pronged attack was just too good for our defence though. As have been most serious multi-player attacks this season. It should be the first thing we address once the season has ended. Maybe it's been done already who knows but we just cannot afford to start next season with either Fox or Hooieveld in our side or even as first change players. Need a CB and a LB, a real one not a 17 year old kiddy.
  2. don't understand the logic, if we draw at Sunderland we'll be on 40 points and Wigan and Villa can't both win their game together. So GD makes no difference.
  3. contracts mean nothing, that's why there are hundreds of millions of transfer fees each season. They give security to the player and in the worst case scenario financial recompense to the club. Look at some of the fairly recent transfers of young players, was Gaston out of contract or Phil Jones or Sturridge or Joe Allen ? no they were all on fairly recent contracts. Morgan's future with us will be decided on his desire to play for France at next season's WC. Deschamps is ignoring him, if he doesn't get a (surprise) call up for this summer's S Am tour then his chances for 2014 are shot unless he moves to Utd,PSG,Arsenal,Lyon or perhaps Tottenham. I know for a fact that Rowley and no doubt Wenger have been watching him often enough so if Arse make an offer that NC doesn't feel inclined to refuse then Morgan may well move on.
  4. exactly Wigan's absolute minimum is now 2 wins and 2 draws. You can write off their game at the Emirates so 3 wins it is which isn't going to happen.
  5. we might even start Guly, who knows Spurs looked a bit sh@gged out to me against Wigan and they'll be getting edgy about their CL chances which basically come down to beating Chelsea anyway. A pair of fresh legs might be handy against them.
  6. who says we're out of contention for the fair-play league. Red cards aren't the end of the world.
  7. Unsurprising, they've been watching him on and off all season. Steve Rowley has been a regular at our games. However the Arse need to worry more about keeping hold of Wenger than filching our players. PSG want him to replace Ancelotti who'll go to Madrid to replace Mourinho who'll go to Chelsea if you can follow all that.
  8. not for me though,no.
  9. we aren't going to suddenly recall Richardson, either Clyne will move over and Cork or Maya will go to right back or Forren will start at LB. Richardson is history.
  10. good, think he does a decent job. Wasn't he 4th official on Saturday ?
  11. I think that whatever the former recruitment policy might have been we will have realised that we need at least 2 major international defenders and a fast wide player if we are to fulfill our ambitions in the near future. Still not convinced that Shaw can play more than half next season's games and I'd sign a left back, a CB and a front man, all of premier quality..
  12. I expect us to sign about zero players from the Championship, think we'll sign 3 or 4, all from within the PL or European sides.
  13. I just don't think he's solid enough for this division. Does good things but usually ends up on the deck or loses the ball after a virulent challenge. Gaston rides those, Lallana needs to do the same. Impact sub next season methinks.
  14. at least Spurs don't have 3 big lumps in their front line to exploit our defensive frailties.
  15. different class,
  16. Great skill but no end product, last ball...or lack of it lets him down. Would do well at the Arse
  17. Indeed, one of the things you most notice when Fox replaces Shaw is that we have nothing on the left side, JRod has to do it all himself with the help of the DMs.
  18. Next week's fixture is more important for Spurs than it is for us. If the Arse should beat Utd today then Spurs will be 3 points off the pace for the CL and their game against Chelsea on on the Wednesday will take on a new dimension. We need to go at them from the off and try to rattle them because they will be easily rattled under those circumstances. I'd bench Lambert cos he'll get nothing from Dawson.
  19. I do feel that we need a Remy like striker though but perhaps JRod will become that.
  20. they'll probably find a taker though, albeit at a loss.
  21. 35 million how come ?
  22. let's say he'll probably never get handed a side with so much ready made talent again. He'll now have to show how good manager he can be and not just point a nucleus of exceptional players in the right direction.
  23. Was he not seen with his foot in a walking cast yesterday ? Just a bit injury prone as likely as not, he'll get over it.
  24. because there's (usually) a box to check or uncheck for that. Failing that a software update.
  25. perhaps he hadn't been approached for it. Wouldn't be my first choice for any "big" job. Really don't think he's all that as a manager.
