  1. looks like Gareth Bale, is he signing for us then ?
  2. I would say that on a value for money basis Tinman Delgado is right up there. With salaries and his cousin he must have cost us somewhere north of 6 million for very little return.
  3. Sunday at 4, away to Naples. Might be a good game to judge him on.
  4. Ran a marathon in Cancun, not bad at all but it was a few years back now. Didn't pay though so perhaps that added to the charm of the place.
  5. Ah yes, isn't it today that Citeh are supposed to field a disinterested team against Wigan because they've already secured 2nd place?
  6. according to something I read Nainggolan is on about 700K€ a year, in £ sterling that's about a measly 11 K a week. Wouldn'"t like to think how little a crap player earns in Italy. No wonder they're all falling over themselves to get to the PL.
  7. wouldn't know where to start, there have been some shockers.
  8. with an atrocious disciplinary record, Joey Barton (on field) MkII
  9. we shall see, not that I think we'll end on 38 points but I don't see both Wigan and Villa surpassing that total and they both have very bad GDs. Look at their fixtures, particularly Villa's they could end up on as little as 35.
  10. no the NFL places some of their own adverts as well. Never seen the Steven Jackson jersey commercial ?
  11. so spreading that over say 30 players/senior football staff that's about 180K£ each. Tax man must have been happy.
  12. well that's not surprising during NFL games there's an ad for replica kit, caps and various other crap about every other down.
  13. nah we must have had a briggs, biggins or troggsworth at some stage in our history. hah got one.... jack hogg
  14. but a baseball games last what about 6/7 hours ? Think of the publicity spots that they can fit in and the shîte you have to put up with. With PL it's just a couple of minutes in the middle. If we had "breaks" every 5 minutes filled with adds for cars, frozen peas and dog food the PL could pay a fortune. Never seen such a boring sport as baseball anyway, they only hit the ball about once out of every 20 throws.
  15. but they had the revenues to pay that and with parachute payments they would still have had. They also probably paid some handsome bonuses for regaining the PL.
  16. probably yes, still a lot of money though, average NPC wage is what about 8K a week ?
  17. 26.1 million £ in salaries for an NPC team is astronomical though. Take away the riff-raff and it means that all of our high profile players were probably on at least 20K a week
  18. there you go, no point looking at out of date figures. NPC revenue has nothing to do with the PL, that's why we're so out of sync.
  19. probably not worth 18 million €. Far too many cards, would be suspended half the time in the UK.
  20. so did Phil Jones about 3 months before he signed for Utd., contracts means nothing to top teams when they're recruiting. If the decision has been reached to sign any of our players they could have contracts until the year 3000 and it wouldn't make an iota of difference, you know like AOC. Now with the financial fair play system teams will look for value for money and I think we have plenty of that. We know absolutely nothing about player's contracts, for all we know they could all have release threshold clauses.
  21. such as? If these players move on it's because they're looking for an "upmarket solution" and not the inverse.
  22. why bomb the tail-enders of a marathon anyway. An hour earlier would have made much more sense...well to a terrorist anyway. Perhaps someone has something against slow marathon runners, real runners don't take 4 hours +. You never know with them crazy yanks.
  23. cos he wanted to make reference to Dyer nicking stuff of course. Old joke worn out years ago.
  24. In fact Fox seems to have a wholly negative influence on our play. More pressure on Jos, Morgan has to drop deep and wide half of the time to at least shepherd wide players into Fox's path cos he doesn't get close enough etc etc etc. That's why we absolutely need a new left back for next season, Shaw seems fragile and probably can only be expected to play about half of the games as yet.
