  1. nah only posh people in the North keep whippets, working men keep ferrets.
  2. still sure about that ?
  3. can't or won't ...that is the question.
  4. you could have tried a double, relegation and Les Ferdinand as next permanent manager, odds would be what in the 10,000/1, in case that happened you could retire to the Bahamas and not have to watch Saints at all. Remember that Icelandic bloke that idiot punters shovelled shedloads of cash on when Pearson got the job, just a random name to confuse idiots.
  5. it's just a random selection of names to entice fools to part with their money. You know like offering 80/1 on Saints being relegated knowing full well that they'd find a couple of pantswetters to wager a tenner or so in case it made them feel more secure. Bookies should be disbanded for preying on the weak minded.
  6. Wouldn't count on it, if Georges told Rupert that Morgan was the real deal (alright future real deal) at only a million euros he'd probably take it as read. Might have had someone take a look at him at Toulon I suppose but Morgan was signed in early June if I recall correctly Prost developped Bale and Walcott amongst others, can't see any reason why Rupert wouldn't trust his judgement even above a club scout who he might not have been familiar with.
  7. but they signed players as well, Sigurdsson wasn't a give away, didn't they finally pay Citeh for Adebayor as well? Lloris 10 million, Dembelé would have cost a bit as well. Certainly not short of signings, just getting them onto the pitch most of the time seems problematic.
  8. Morgan was signed on the recommendation of Georges Prost.
  9. ah the bookies little pot-boiler, always mugs aplenty to give them part of their hard-earned. Wonder if Sir Alex will get a commission, will be plenty of dosh wagered on that.
  10. Wigan will not beat Arsenal, I'd hoped that all the pantswetting would now be over and the purveyors of said pantswetting not be heard from for a few months. Arsenal,Chelsea,Spurs, 3 teams for 2x 20 million £ earning places, none of them will lose to the likes of Wigan.
  11. it's not just that, they all want to stay up but he does some good stuff, just needs a finishing touch.
  12. Lallana won't be dropped, don't know why anyone might think he would be.
  13. probably something to do with them being eternally grateful for the 2 million windfall we gave them for Gazza. They can pay Forecast 3K a week for a couple of years and still be laughing all the way to the bank.
  14. Lallana contributes some good stuff early on, trouble is neither he nor anyone else can finish any of it. Three or four things he did in the first half on Saturday should have brought definite goal chances but he can't shoot under pressure and no-one got onto any of the crosses. Lallana would be a different player with a really potent (at PL level) striker in front of him.
  15. but a point would take us above Villa anyway because they're going to get their collective ass kicked by Chelsea on Saturday. If Wigan beat them it wouldn't matter to us. We need a point and everything becomes virtually definitive.
  16. He's not become a bad player overnight no, but I'd say he's lost a yard or two of late and he's never been the fastest in the realm either. Just not getting on the end of anything at all.
  17. as I said in the build up thread, he'd get nothing when faced with Vertonghen and Dawson, good free kick though. We really do need to sort out our striker situation before next season. I know it's obvious but the best sides in the PL have the best strikers.
  18. but if Swansea were to win then all the nervous nellies would have to shut the f*ck up,at least for this season, wouldn't that be better than finishing a place higher ?
  19. about right, always saying how he feels trapped by snooker.
  20. depends what kind of duck though.
  21. knee didn't look to great on Saturday.
  22. not enough top class strikers to go round that's why. Man U, Citeh and even Arsenal have more than their fair share but they still want everybody else's. Ridiculous for one team to have Chicharito,Van Persie, Welbeck and Rooney and Norwich to have just Grant Holt.
  23. then we need to change our team to make him fit.
  24. so SWF is stuck in a lift on it's way up to the stratosphere is that it ? Those CFC propellant gases have a lot to answer for. In my day it was ammonium compounds which could be used as fertilisers being produced by thunderstorms, Born-Harber cycle or some crap like that. To each generation it's chemical problems.
